I bought this on cassette one summer when I was like 9 years old. It was right after I watched 'Rattle & Hum' for the first time. I have since purchased it three more times in different audio formats. This album remains one of my few perfect albums. I remember I "acquired" my copy when I was about 8 or 9, when I liberated it from my mom's boyfriend's car. When he found out I had taken it, the very next day he went and bought a copy just for me so I could listen to it anytime. At my school, anybody who was anybody bought this album. I have been known to bust out 'Ice Ice Baby' at karaoke from time to time. (see my facebook for further evidence) I remember when I was in grade one, an older girl at my daycare (I think she was in grade three) told me a story about how the whole class had randomly busted out in Ice, Ice Baby during their math lesson. I was so jealous. And totally thought she was super cool and badass.

I remember hearing Around the World at Jellybean dances and elementary school dances.

1.) First Ever I was around 9-10, Big Shiny Tunes 2. I would totally still listen to this, it;s got some great tracks on it. Prodigy - "Breathe (Edit)" Blur - "Song 2" Third Eye Blind - "Semi-Charmed Life" Smash Mouth - "Walkin' on the Sun" Sugar Ray - "Fly" (featuring Supercat) Bran Van 3000 - "Drinking in L.A." Marilyn Manson - "The Beautiful People" Holly McNarland - "Numb" Bush - "Swallowed" Matchbox 20 - "Push" Collective Soul - "Precious Declaration (Remix)" The Tea Party - "Temptation (Edit) (Tom Lord-Alge Mix)" The Chemical Brothers - "Block Rockin' Beats (Radio Edit)" Wide Mouth Mason - "My Old Self" Radiohead - "Paranoid Android" The Age of Electric - "Remote Control" Stone Temple Pilots - "Lady Picture Show" 2.)Fush Yu Mang - Smashmouth "Walking on the Sun" is still a great fucking jam. 3.) Chumbawamba - Tubthumper 4.)Then I got into Eminem, like I'm sure every other white boy around my age. Eminem- Slim Shady LP I still have a soft spot for earlier Eminem records. 5.)Nirvana - Nevermind This is probably the most important record to me personally. It's when I started listening to music more than just causally. I was around 13 when I bought this. Strangely enough it was actually this record that got me into Neil Young in round about kind of way.

It's crazy that so many people had Tubthumper but were never compelled to find any other Chumba records.
I owned Tubthumper for like six months before I realized that the song 'Tubthumping' was a thing and that people were already over it. By that time, I was fucking obsessed with that record and I was all over it when they released their follow-up.

It just goes to show how much 'smaller' music was in the 90's. A comp today with a list that disparate wouldn't exist. So many people have narrowed their field of taste down so far that the equivalent of a Chemical Brothers fan wouldn't go anywhere near the equivalent of a Manson fan. Also: 'The Beautiful People' is an incredible song, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it 'big and shiny'.

Did anyone own the Dracula 2000 soundtrack? It was my first introduction to Slayer and Pantera, and pretty much my point of no return into the realms of metal. I still think the opening of Slayer's Bloodline is one of the most sinister sounding riffs ever written.
Tracklist:
"Ultra Mega" (Powerman 5000) "A Welcome Burden" (Disturbed) "Bloodline" (Slayer) "Metro" (System of a Down) "Heads Explode" (Monster Magnet) "Break You Down" (Godhead feat. Marilyn Manson) "One Step Closer" (Linkin Park) "Avoid the Light" (Pantera) "Otsego Undead" (Static-X) "Swan Dive" ((hed)p.e.) "Day by Day" (Taproot) "Malice" (Endo) "Blind World" (Flybanger) "Sober" (Half Cocked) "Your Disease" (Saliva)

Haha, I saw Powerman 5000 in like 1998. Opening for Primus. They were immediately upstaged by Buck-O-Nine:

J-dawg I totally ha that dancemix cd. Muchmusic compilations ftw! Story about that CD, I actually bought it just after Dance Mix 94 came out (not long after the rest of the ones I posted). I bought 92, 93, and 94 at the same time. Of those, my favorite was/is 93.

Played this song over and over:
And it's about Lenny Bruce! And it helped teach an 8-year-old dirty words including the fact that come and cum are two different words! Good times.
