I would totally go to this if it wasn't so close to Sasquatch.

I just don't get why they go to all this trouble for a 1 day festival. Is it really that much harder to round up enough artists to fill 2 days? They'd get a hell of a lot more people out because I can't see many people making a round trip drive of much more than 5 hours for a 1 day festival.
I guess Sasquatch started as 1 day so maybe it will grow, but the effort to party ratio alone is enough to keep me away this year.
(sorry for adding to the pile of posts where people say they aren't going, it looks pretty badass though)

Warped Tour, anyone? Ozzfest? Anybody? Anybody?
There have been a ton of 1-day festivals that have rolled through the Gorge. Shit, people drive to the Gorge just to see a 4 hour long concert with two or three artists. Paradiso isn't that crazy of an idea...

From Seattle it's totally reasonable, but including pit stops and shopping for groceries (though I guess we would need less for this festival) it's a good 8 hour drive from Vancouver, and another 6 on the way back.
Ozzfest and Warped Tour both came through Vancouver, so no one was making that drive. If they are only aiming for people from Seattle then it's fine, but with the amount of effort they are putting into this, it looks like the are shooting for a larger area.

The electronic scene has grown into something astronomical in Seattle. Unlike Sasquatch, I wouldn't be surprised if 80% of the Paradiso attendees are from around the Seattle area.

Settle down Gramma, you only want to attend to relive Sasquatch and high drugs for one or two more nights. Have you looked at the lineup? I like EDM, and there are only a couple DJs I'm interested in. You don't know anything about anyone on the lineup.
I too thought, "this would be sweet," then I though Outside Lands would be a lot sweeter.

I'm considering outside lands as a possibility, and while Paradiso would be fun, I'm not sure it's worth attending if you take away the venue. That said, I'm pretty sure the outside lands lineup at the gorge would be a *fuck yes* for most of the people on here.

Money - mostly. While the hoopla seems a little crazy for a 1 day festival, I think it could also be necessary for people like me who are novice EDM fans (but want to learn more) but are indecisive about a festival.

I would love to go to Outside Lands but that gets pretty spendy with traveling to California.

I didn't give a shit until Cirque du Soleil was added, and then I gave a shit. The website is pretty vague about what you'll see. It's not going to be the full show. It might be a guy doing a back-flip on stage, followed by a 15 minute Q & A.

A couple different people on the Chella boards said A&B, Digitalism, and Knife Party all put on absolutely fantastic EDC sets.

I need to listen to more Digitalism. I wish they would put up some set times, so I will know if there are conflicts. If I remember correctly, I think USC usually does the set times last minute though. As long as all the artists on the poster are playing at different times, I think I'll be ok.

I sure hope they don't treat this like a normal USC event where they only post the set times and stages day-of.
