I'm sorry if I offended you Dude, and I 100% know that my statement is condecending. However, I will always hold true on these sentiments, though I always voice them in a much more diplomatic manner IRL. Don't worry, I'm pretty much unoffendable. I was just trying to stick up for the religious people who sometimes feel unable to say they are religious without having someone say "You believe the world is 5000 years old and was created by some dude in 6 days?!?! LOL" Also, thanks for capatailizing 'Dude', made me feel like Jeff Lebowski. |

Sorry HG, I have to raise the BS flag here. If jokes (sometimes highly offensive ones) about Canadian and Southern stereotypes is accepted here - and even encouraged - then certainly Mormon stereotypes aren't off limits. Either we can make fun of everyone or we can't make fun of anybody at all. Uhh, no. Jokes about where people live and jokes about what people believe are in completely different categories. That is, like, a tremendous leap in logic dude. |

1. Nobody makes fun Muslims for fear of being bombed and 2. nobody makes fun of the Jews because being a Jew is punishment enough. Dude cutesy anti-Semitic remarks are still anti-Semitic. I really don't get what you're trying to do here. I get that I offended you, but this is not the right arena in which to choose to put me in my place. There have been Mormons that used this board in the past (anyone remember stickDr. Garbanzoures?); I'm not going to bat specifically for Mormons, I'm stating generally that religiously intolerant remarks should be checked at the door. That's not out of line, and it doesn't make me a hypocrite for indulging in regional stereotypes, which are ultimately harmless. |
