TV on the Radio, Shins, Costello, MGMT, David Byrne, Of Montreal, PBJ, Neil Young, not bad. Not sure it would be worth the $1500 for the VIP tickets though. There's no HOLY SHIT factor.
I don't have much interest in Pearl Jam, though I did see Vedder live last year performing the Into The Wild songs.

Admittedly, I don't speak from experience, but I would imagine that seeing Vedder performing Into the Wild on his own would be VERY different than seeing Pearl Jam at the Gorge. I'm sure that a few people who look at these boards would agree.

Loyal from London, I agree on the "HOLY SHIT" factor. Sasquatch usually has headliners that put "ON A SHOW"! Like lights and props and naked chicks (Flaming Lips), Giant old school moniters on Poles (Arcade Fire), Marionettes (Beck), 22 piece Asian unic choirs (Bjork). I just can't find those headlining bands this summer? That is the eact reason i thought the Cure and REM were kind of a dissapointment last year because of the lack of stage show.

Barring the other problems with this list (yeti stage not being local and Byrne and Costello being more headliners than 3 from the top) you at least need to switch monday and saturday. Monday is promised to be the weakest (popularity wise) because many people will head home for work in the morning. As great as the flaming lips are, they are a huge step down from REM and The Cure in popularity

kings of leon are the only possible headliner rumored so far, but as others have said, they're not as big in america as they are in the UK. unless sasquatch bookers are having a hard time getting big name bands, i don't expect to see KOL as a headliner. perhaps the headliners are better hidden this year because it'll be totally mind blowing when we find out who they are ;D

I'm sure that a few people who look at these boards would agree. From experience, seeing any band at the Gorge is automatically better. Even shat bands are better. REM were garbage last year, as were Mars Volta. But because of the atmosphere and crowd and scenery, and hell, sitting next to Tim Meadows, it was slightly better. slightlyIf I had a choice between seeing Vedder on his own and Pearl Jam, I gotta go with Vedder. If I had a choice between the venue I saw Vedder at (which was intimate) and the Gorge, I'd go with the Gorge every single time.

The nudity during the Flips show was worth the price of admission alone (can't forget the UFO). Same goes for Arcade Fire and Bjork, ah sweet wonderfully weird Bjork. It's the mainstage. I expect a show damnit.

Loyalfromlondon, Suggestions on headliners with "Spectacle" possibilities. Radioheads No Chance in Hell and I'm pretty sure NIN is not making there way to the Gorge. I saw Metallica here in Calgary. But they're not Sasquatch Material at all. Coldplay is not my cup of tea as a grand healiner and they've all but been ruled out. Killers have a Seattle show already. No Doubt is out cause of schedualing conflicts. This is why i think more and more bands like Tool and Oasis are being throw out there for possible headliners? How bout Green Day? This is why i'm starting to really wonder what they're going to pull out of there hat? Cause usually they have one headliner that pretty much no one else has every year, and then a couple repeats. Looking @ the headliners of the 2 biggies that announced. were not getting Bruce or sir Paul those are exclusives. We had The Cure last year and the Beasties 2 years before that. and NIN 3 years. I know the Lips have headlined twice. But once was cause Ben Harper was being a little bitch and last year i think they kinda just stumbled upon it (thats just my opinion) cause they didnt have a day 3 headliner and then the Lips just said what the hell we're playing everything else.

They actually didn't stumble upon the Lips, they wanted them and they wanted them to do the show no one else had.

cbatson, I see where your coming from with the comments on Byrne and Costello. especially Byrne. But form 4 years experience at the Gorge it just seems that people are more inclined to enjoy Bands from mid to late 80's to present rather than an artist that was at their popularity peak in the late 70's early 80's. I know Byrne probably won't be there. But Adam Zacks STG job booked him early this springs so that is the reason for his inclusion. As for Costello, many have creep Adam Zacks Facebook profile and it has Costello as one of his favorite artists. Now thats not to say thats guarenteed at all either but if he were to play Sasquatch i am positive he would not headline ever, ever! As for Monday and Saturdays lineup being switched i could dig that. You should mention that to the sasquatch organizers. Cause last year Saturday was (once again in my opinion) the weakest day. Modest Mouse were awesome and so was Beruit even after being slotted so shitty. And Destroyer( Dan Bejar) set rocked and it was cool to see him with the new Pornos later. BUT and thats a huge BUT. REM were very (lets play every song at the same tempo) blah. The National i heard put on a great show but i missed it cause they did an hour and a half sound check. MIA got the crowd going but not me. Even Kayne takes his glasses off. I am still curious if that was actually her. She did end up cancelling later dates in Europe last summer. She's a head case! Fleet Foxes put me asleep twice and what I caught of the Breeders was just so 1995. Give me Jamie Lidell, Ghostland, Yeasayer, Battles, Kinski, and the Flaming Lips anyday of the year!

I expect that after seeing what happened to Langerado, other festivals are going to try a little bit harder to book better lineups. Bonnaroo pleased both the jam band people and indie crowd with this years lineup. I'm hoping Sasquatch does the same, less on the jam bands please. If not, I will have to cancel my airline tickets and buy me up some Roo VIP. Don't let me down Sasquatch.

seanznor, really cause i saw that exact same set a month and a half laster at VirginFest in Calgary? I don't believe the UFO show was there. If it was then the contract was US exclusive which is possible. But even the Lips listed the Sasquatch show as the only UFO show of 08. Then again it's the Flaming Lips, so anything goes.

That's why its a "Somewhat Believable Lineup." Not very likely at all, but still plausible.
However, I agree PBJ and Iron&Wine would be mainstage. Iron&Wine was divine on the mainstage in 2006.

I wish that was the actual line up , but i'll be skeptical , I think theres just to many big names on that list, but if thats it, or even close , that would be unreal , also is andrew bird a possibiliy cause i would love to see that guy!

This is not the lineup. Not even close. I just put a bunch of bands together that could plausibly come because it fit with their schedual and itineraries.

Here are a couple local Portland bands getting some buzz: Horsefeathers, Starfucker, Mimicking Birds, Dimes, Hockey, and Shakey Hands. All are possible Yeti band folk.
