Actually, the "forchune cookie" one is pretty awesome too.

Pea-gnorant time. I had no idea Celiac was the term for people who couldn't consume gluten. I Dr. Garbanzoured a Celiac was some sort of mythical beast and came in here thinking someone wanted to make a troll thread ala the "Dogs at Sasquatch" thread.

Audrey is going to die when she sees this. My favorite is, "What is the best trait of a person with Celiac Disease? Dedicated" because it's not actually a joke.

Hahaha. Thanks for the jokes! I've actually never heard any celiac jokes before! Turns out there is a lighter side to it.
If I bought gluten-free beer (or cider) over the border and somehow managed to smuggle it in, is there some trick to drinking it without getting it taken away? I just... love beer. And I would prefer to drink it instead of hard liquor, if I could.
@kymess - I usually just drink whatever whiskey is around! I'm just starting to get into it now, I've been celiac for less than a year, so I won't pretend I'm an expert on it.

I know there is a whole 'booze' thread, but I found that was mostly on how to sneak in hard liquor, not necessarily beer/cider - especially in bottles. That sounds difficult.

You should pretend you are an expert in it. If there ever was a field that was vastly unknown, had a myriad of symptoms that held zero consistency from one person to the next, and most people only hear about it for the first time when you tell them "I am Celiac", it is this field.
Suzanne, Celiac MD.
See, how legit does that sound? Real legit.

Sneaking in beer and cider will not be easy by any stretch. I don't really have any tips for you, sorry.
If anyone does have some tips, please PM suzannejt instead of posting them here. Thanks.

You could always pass it off as a medical necessity.

Okay. No sneaking in beer or cider then! Guess I'll have to stick to the hard stuff.
Also, I do quite like the title of "Suzanne, Celiac MD". I should make myself some business cards.

With the re-entry privileges, running home mid day for a couple cold beer and maybe a nap is a reasonable thing to do anyway. Heck, I might not even drink before noon this year.
No more under-car naps for me.

You could always pass it off as a medical necessity. When we were drunkenly discussing methods of sneaking in booze last year, the nurse in the group decided she's going to bring a catheter bag and strap it to her leg and fill it with something yellow. Gross.
