ive been a fan of girl talk for a long time and will catch his set if it doesn't conflict with eits, but im just wonderin why he needs the mainstage, he doesn't do any spectacular kinda light show or anything does he? and im sure theres plenty of people that would agree eits deserves that mainstage slot... just sayin.. The way Girl Talk is he can play any sized stage he wants. I saw him play in front of ~8000 people at Live at Squamish last summer and it was awesome. He had a whole crew of people making interesting shit happen like giant balloons full of confetti exploding over the crowd. He can also tone it down and play a club with 500 people in it if he wants to. Regardless, he is a bigger draw than EITS. This was Girl Talk at Live at Squamish. There was lights, there was confetti, and there was toilet paper guns. It was a party and will be even better at the Gorge.

Fuck. Go ahead and make me feel worse about missing Live At Squampton, davers...though I suppose seeing him at le Gorge is a more than appropriate reimbursement.
I feel the EitS conflict is unavoidable. The late night set would be faaantastic but I feel that putting them up against the Main Stage party is more fitting and offers an alternative for folks not too keen on the aforementioned college kids and their glowsticks. Ohhh welll

Did you see him at Sasquatch 09, by chance? I missed that set but heard it was one of the biggest Bigfoot crowds ever. Considering how much EDM(ish) music has grown since that year it really does make sense to put him on the main. Plus, just think about how many more dancing college kids wearing Indian head dresses and covered in neon face paint can fit on the main stage compared to the Bigfoot!!! I saw Girl Talk -> EitS in '09, and I would say both crowds were equally large in size. I would also make the claim that both acts have grown equally in "mainstream" popularity over the past 3 years. Regardless, Girl Talk -> Pretty lights is the sensible main stage choice. It's alright though guys, the Bigfoot sounds better up close anyways.

I would also make the claim that both acts have grown equally in "mainstream" popularity over the past 3 years. Totally agree, that's why it seems so weird to have EITS play the exact same slot they played in 2009. The only difference is instead of conflicting with Ben Harper, they will conflict with Girl Talk or Pretty Lights unless they end up actually being a late night set. It makes sense to have EITS conflict with dance music because they are pretty much the exact oposite of dance music, but I just don't get why they arent on the mainstage opening for Bon Iver or something, instead of playing against what will likely be the party of the weekend.

I'm a big fan of both, but if we're basing our predictions on what we know, like we constantly do, then Explosions will end before Girl Talk and Pretty Lights anyway, really the conflict that occurs with Explosions will be with Santogold, or Feist, if she is for some reason playing on that Friday.

Explosions is probably playing the same slot because that slot was absolutely perfect for them.

Hello! First time Sasquatch ticketholder here! If EitS plays in the same slot as Girl Talk into Pretty Lights I'm going to be one sad panda EitS definitely wins but I don't want to miss out on that epic dance party!

Explosions will always win for me too... Don't be sad on missing the dance party, they'll be plenty, and you won't likely miss any of the main action. You should be able to roll from a mesmerizing Explosions performance into a dance-a-thon.

You should be able to roll from a mesmerizing Explosions performance into a dance-a-thon. Explosions In The Sky sounds like every pep talk ever all at once, but because there are no words involved you listen to it and you just feel more like doing. Basically, EITS before a dance thing would just make me go HAM at that dance thing.

By the time Sasquatch rolls around I will have seen EitS 10 times, going on 11. I will still choose to see them again. So yeah, they're pretty good live.

You guys realize that none of this is official and everything could change right? Just throwing that out there. No need to worry about a EITS/Girl Talk conflict yet.

They should just make EITS a late night slot and be done with it, then there'd be no conflict between the three bands.

Why not just turn it into a week long festival, have one stage and avoid all conflicts?
Come on folks, there will be conflicts and you will have to make difficult decisions. It's how Sasquatch and for that matter any other multi day multi stage music festival works.
And like womp said, "none of this is official...yet."

If I don't worry about meaningless things like potential music festival conflicts then I might have to focus on actual problems in my life, and like, deal with them and stuff. That sounds terrible.
