Which three bands make you buy a plane ticket, pack up the car, or otherwise arrange to be at the Gorge on Memorial Day weekend?
Be reasonable, no Zeppelin reunions or anything like that. Think more along the lines of the absolute minimum it would take to get you there...not 3 huge no-brainer awesome headliners, but 3 smaller bands, or 2 smaller bands and a headliner. Three bands that would make the decision for you, even if the rest of the lineup absolutely sucked.
I'll start:
Pearl Jam Band of Horses A.C. Newman

Modest Mouse.
Going to the Gorge means renting a car or harassing a friend for a while... so the only thing that will guarantee my going to those lengths is Modest Mouse. Or a reunion (The Dismemberment Plan, Pavement, etc.) I couldn't see in Seattle.

I'm already set on going (even if the lineup isn't stellar, it's worth it just to camp with thousands of awesome people), but if there had to be 3 bands to convince me of going.........
Radiohead (Cliche' yes, but every time I've attempted to see them in the past five years, it hasn't worked out for some odd reason) Grizzly Bear (Just saw Department of Eagles, and it made me really eager to see these guys live. It would be a perfect band to sit on the hill and , well..... get really high to, I guess) The Rapture (Biggest dance party I've ever been a part of, was when these guys were playing in the tent at Coachella in 2007)

er, the STROKES and FRANZ seem like they'd be an ideal combination. might be overly optimistic, but there's the new strokes album being recorded in february thirdly, i want the CONSTANTINES. they couldn't be too expensive to book

Nice to see some fellow Band of Horses fans here, they're recording a new album so it's a good possibility that they're this year. So , my top 3 ( hard to pick just 3!)
Band of Horses Arcade Fire ( without a doubt) Gogol Bordello ( not a huge fan of their music , but would love to see them live )
Ok , I gotta add one more ,MGMT (at night for sure) Dance party!

Cool, a new thread.
Awesome casts mentioned the Constantines, I know zero about that band, other than I was watching them during the apocalypse that was the Sasquatch 06 hailstorm. I can't imagine they would ever want to come back. I am pretty sure I was at that stage because Band of Horses preceded. Not a big fan of their live shows though, I would rather see Horse the Band.
chops, if you want a dance party, you are correct about Gogol Bordello. MGMT will likely put you to sleep (they only have a couple dance songs).
I guess I could name 10 headliners that I would love to see, and any three of them would make me buy a plane ticket (like Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, and NIN at Lollapalooza last year), so I'll go with the non-headliner three.
Tenacious D, The Knife, Animal Collective.

Pearl Jam(doesn't even have to be Sasquatch, they'll get me there) Manu Chao of Montreal
Also I'll just throw NASA out there but if it was NASA plus guests. Like if NASA played, then the rest of the weekend had Wu Tang, Tom Waits, David Byrne, Public Enemy, MIA, Kanye, Santogold, etc. I'd be amazed.

Radiohead The Strokes My Morning Jacket The Hold Steady
I know that's 4, but I'm obviously going regardless...unless No Doubt, Green Day, and The Jonas Brother headline.

Or a reunion (The Dismemberment Plan, Pavement, etc.) I couldn't see in Seattle. Please tell me there's some substance behind the D-Plan reuniting!!!

Well, I'm probably going to go regardless of what the lineup is, but here are the three bands I want to see live the most: Muse Explosions in the Sky Sigur Ros I know none of these bands are going to be at Sasquatch, though.

Or a reunion (The Dismemberment Plan, Pavement, etc.) I couldn't see in Seattle. Please tell me there's some substance behind the D-Plan reuniting!!! I wish. They got together for a weekend a year or two ago, but it didn't tour anywhere. Give it another five years or so and then people will talk about a D-Plan reunion like they talk about Pavement.
