As much as everybody wants him to play a set full of those songs, myself included, I just can't see it. But then again with the amount of time headliners get, he has to play quite a few, unless his new album is a triple-disk or something. Hopefully he will just get all the new ones out of the way, and then break into the greatest hits portion of his set.

I'm glad he will be playing at least one show before Sasquatch (at Hangout), so we will have an idea as to what kind of show we are in for.

i think he will just play new songs off his solo album. I was really hoping for some stuff off Rome with dangermouse. i really dont think he would play songs from his other bands as it is almost disrespectful to the other artist in those bands to play without them. But since it is a headliner spot it seems like he will need to play some songs we all recognize, so its 50/50. i guess white stripes songs would be most likely, but who knows.

That's kind of a bad thing, since it'll spoil what kind of set he's planning on bringing. I'm hoping we're not disappointed before Sasquatch even starts because three quarters of his set is solo songs.

I really wish Jack would restart The Raconteurs, I really think that was the coolest thing ever.
Also thanks for posting the "rich kid blues" song FD, I've always loved that. Blue vein is the shit as well. I really love Brendon Benson a lot Jack White's voice seems to bounce off his voice so well.

I should've clarified that I chose those videos not because he should play those songs, I was just illustrating that I hope he decides to rock out a la Blue Veins, give us some covers like the Death Letter, and just riff around in general like adding "Kissy Kiss" to "Rich Kid Blues" and bringing some thunder as he does in that "Icky Thump" video. Personally I'd be happy just to watch Jack White rip through and let loose on a cover heavy set.
I saw the White Stripes in 2003 and they played probably an 80% covers set. It was fantastic! It was almost like seeing a DJ set as he just free formed through blues standards and obscurities without even stopping once. Everyone was going wild.

I'm still bitter about having tickets to a White Stripes show at the Paramount in Seattle that never happened due to Meg's issue

He's the kind of artist you want to see play a 2.5 hour set where he only has the first hour mapped out. I would dig this. But he also has a meticulous personality and so I doubt it'll be too impromptu. Again, I expect full-band renditions of a) Stuff from his solo record, b) White Stripes songs, and c) Covers

Looks like we'll be able to get an idea of what his set is like next month.

I still think Mellow Gold is the best. I haven't bought a Beck album since Odelay was released. I have been listening to the other ones, and Guero is pretty good. I seem to have overlooked your genius, Cysquatch. May I ask what your favorite Jack White album is?

The White Stipes - Icky Thump
Still need to check out some of the stuff he did with his other projects. The Dead Weather sounded pretty good, but I haven't listened to it thoroughly enough to recommend it.

Really? Interesting.
De Stijl and Get Behind Me Satan are my favorites.
