Ugh, seriously. Why is the beer so expensive there? And not very good, either...though Molson will do in a pinch.

We just loaded up our backback with beer. yeah it was heavy for a bit, but once you sit down it is fine. That is the only way we could afford to drink inside the place!

They should at least sell 24oz. microws for that price. On another note... I think mirmosas are absolutly my favorite festival drink.

Camelbac full of some sort of Energy drink, vodka and gatorade combination. The rest of the bag full of cans of some cheap beer and then a few power bars and sandwiches. Sasquatch will get the ticket price out of me and not a cent more, viva frugality.

Just so any newbies understand, from what I gather, VIPs have all stated it is easy to sneak beer in the festival. You have to be really crafty to sneak in beer through the non VIP entrance. I have been patted down at least half of my entries, and had a Red Bull taken once. I've never brought a backpack in with me, but I know they search those as well (in the non VIP entrance). As for the campground, bring virtually whatever you want.

Okay, so...if they had decent beer, they could charge even more for it. And at least then I wouldn't feel like I was getting the shaft.

what you need to do with a back pack or bag of any sort is run the search yourself, don't hand over the bag, just open it for them, rummage through your gear make sure you don't show them your beers.

It's not too difficult to sneak in a pint or two when you get down to the venue. As long as you have a few other things in your pack. Or, if I'm as gone as I was last year, you have a good chance of seeing me hand out shots of Patron, Ten Cane, and Belvedere where the cars enter for camping........ As for the alcohol they provide, not worth your cash. The margarita's wouldn't even get a baby drunk (hope that wasn't out of line).

From Sasquatchfestival.com:
Beverages Beverages are available for purchase at Amphitheater concessions and stores. Beer and wine may be purchased and consumed on-site at licensed locations only by adults displaying valid age-ID during authorized hours of operation. No alcohol beverages may be brought onto Amphitheater grounds.
This better not mean we can only drink in beer gardens this year!

Funny stuff Partymarty with the margarita comment.
I put beer as my choice as I find beer to be the best "all day" drink. If I start drinking wine or hard alcohol in the afternoon, I will probably be passed out by the time the headliners come on.

We just dumped our bottled water and filed them with vodka. Like some weird science experiment only to find out the really didn't search us in the VIP entrance. My friends snuck in a 12 pack.

I'd be a bit more cautious about sharing tips for sneaking in booze and stuff like that. I am sure someone who runs security reads message boards like this. They may make it so we can't bring anything in if you're not careful.

Just so I'm completely sure about this, when I show up at the campground with a truckbed full of decent tasting canadian beer, they wont be frowning--but if i try to take some into the show theyll be upset. Right?
