I simply cannot put into words just how excited I am for this. Word, I've seen him twice (once live and DJ set for the other). That was back when he had the drummer accompany him. I haven't seen any shows of his since 2010. Based on recent videos of his concerts, his light setup has really received an overhaul. I can't wait for the party he will bring to the Gorge. I'm also particularly excited because the date he plays will be the first day that I can legally consume alcohol.

What do you classify as a live performance and as a DJ set? His sets are all pretty much done via laptop and monome.

In all honesty I've always wondered the same thing. In my mind, a live set means lights and the whole shebang whereas a DJ set is just them playing music with no whistles and bells.

A live set would be live manipulations of original compositions, using launchpads, keyboards and computers (among other instruments in some cases) whereas a DJ set is simply playing records or cd's and mixing between one and the other. Most of the time, a DJ set will include some of their own productions but also a lot of other people's music.

^^ This I would agree with mostly, and I don't think I've ever known Pretty Lights to play a 'DJ set.' He only plays original music and he alters stuff live via his computers, mixers, monomes, drumpads, whatever.

To EDM fans: not knowing much about either Pretty Lights of Feed Me, do you think that Feed Me is actually a better show (aside from the obvious awesomeness that will be glowpocalypse)?
If Feed Me was added originally, would that be the glowpocalypse instead?
Also I have absolutely no idea with any of the electronic acts when it comes to popularity. Wolfgang Gartner, Feed Me, Pretty Lights, other EDM acts in the lineup. Can someone give me a ballpart estimate in terms of 'famousness' or who is a bigger festival draw? I'm not saying it would determine which shows I go to, I just feel like I have no idea, and I'm curious.

If you would like to determine popularity, you can pretty much determine that by how high they are placed on the lineup on the website. Pretty Lights is by far the biggest EDM act on the bill. That is obvious by the fact that he is headlining a night.
Feed Me has nowhere near the fan base. The only real reason he is billed so high is his stage setup. I for one enjoy his music, but there are many artists in the dance tent who are far more popular than Feed Me, and far more skilled.

You pretty much nailed the three biggest ones there tesla. Add Nero to that list and you have the big four for the weekend IMO. James Murphy's set will also be crazy busy, perhaps even the busiest of the weekend.

Definitely Pretty Lights, Nero, Wolfgang Gartner and Feed Me are the big EDM acts this year. I think we can say hands down that PL should be the glowpocalypse simply because he is playing on the main stage, and there has been no equivalent to this in past years. The others aren't as novel in terms of timeslots. Nero will be like the Skrillex of last year, Wolfgang like MSTRKRFT, and Feed Me like Bassnectar. They will all be a huge party no doubt!

I'm not terribly versed in EDM, but is there a reason no one has listed Girl Talk as one of the top EDM artists? I know he's all "I'm not a DJ" and such, but does he not count as EDM? I would put him almost as high at Pretty Lights in terms of popularity.

Except the fact that Pretty Lights is good and well lets just say girl talk isn't That is no fact. They both produce excellent sample-based dance music; yet, with each their own unique styles. Go to either show and you are guaranteed a good time.

Girl Talk annoys the shit out of me, but I'm TOTALLY going to be at that set because womp is right: it's going to be a crazy fucking party.
I love seeing the whole fucking hillside covered with people dancing. Curiously, Sasquatch seems to have mostly avoided putting acts on the main stage that cause gigantic dance parties. I love that that seems to have changed this year.
