Honestly, I think Pretty Lights is the fucking tits. I've been waiting to see him and I'm sure this won't disappoint. I am hoping he brings the fucking energy to this show. And I will be bringing an xtra 1000 glow sticks to throw at people.

I respect him for choosing No Quarter to put in there for a bit, that was cool . I think the main thing I have a problem with, especially in the live setting, is that I have no Idea what to do at electronic concerts.

Not trying to sound like a dink, but how does someone on a laptop bring the energy? Like by playing a good set up energetic songs?

One of the main reason I go to shows, other than to hear the songs I love. Is because I like seeing how a part in the song that I love, is actually played on the instrument by the person who wrote it. But I guess I will try this dancing thing.

Last year I saw Deadmau5, Bassnectar, and Pretty Lights......Pretty Lights was by FAR the BEST of the three.
I'm very excited about this!

Also, the new Pretty Lights album is all original. He created all of the samples that he used to make the tracks.

for all you fuckers who haven't figured out how awesome pretty lights is: www.prettylightsmusic.com/#/downloads. All his albums are free downloads (with a recommended donation mind you). and check out his label with more awesomeness (all also free with recommended donations). I recommend checking out Gramatik.

More likely to do with licensing issues due to the samples, but free albums are cool none the less. I'll give it a listen, once I get my computer fully functional again.

Actually pretty Lights has put his music up free as a Torrent (excerpt) "When Pretty Lights reached out to me to work with him, I got so excited because I knew I would have the ability to be creative from a marketing and business perspective. PL gives ALL of his music away for free, and answers to exactly 0 people (no label) about how / when / or why to release his music. What was the first thought that popped into my head for potential collaborations for spreading his music beyond his already massive & die-hard fan base? Bit Torrent." www.hypebot.com/hypebot/2012/01/case-study-pretty-lights-bittorrent-partnership.htmlhere's the link to the torrent itself thepiratebay.se/torrent/6863761/PrettyLights-BT

Please explain to me why most other "groups" in his genre doesn't do this then. He has literally put every piece of music he has recorded up for free download with the choice to donate..along with everyone else on his label.

More than likely won't happen though. Usually big headliners go first, then the smaller ones. Monday always has least attendance and they know lots of people would be pissed for missing Beck, Jack White, or Bon Iver. Unless they play late after sets and the Shins take the 4th day. Here's the logic: girl talk leaked to be playing friday. Having an EDM headliner doesn't make sense on a monday night. Friday night everyone will want to party. What better way to start sasquatch? Besides, almost everyone will have a 4 day pass so it doesnt matter when the biggest headliner is

The big party should be on Saturday I think. You have to space that shit out.

Although Pretty Lights and Foo Fighters are completely different I can see the connection between "lets rage our face off" to some solid face melting rock n roll and "lets rage our face off" to some dance your pants off EDM.

He has literally put every piece of music he has recorded up for free download with the choice to donate..along with everyone else on his label. I don't listen to the genre, so I can't speak to that. But many artist release music for free because of samples. Girltalk does it so he doesn't get sued that is pretty clear. Mostly these artist do it because they know they can make more money off of shows ( clearly being listed in the Giant font for Pretty Light is an example) than they can off records. My point was not to misunderstand his intentions;he's probably a great guy, but he wants to make money. He didn't release it for free because he doesn't want your money.

I don't know how to dance to beatless sampled chainsaws and Disney movies and ambient chirps in any sort of universe.
