Bright Eyes is the fucking worst. There's nothing to get.
Beck, on the other hand, is fucking awesome. He was a giant in his day, one of the most important artists of the 90's, and for more than ten years his live show was second to none. He has more GREAT records than nearly any artist that has ever appeared on the Sasquatch lineup. And although it has been diminished by his weird philosophical hangups and aversion to the image that made him a superstar, he's still one of the coolest people on the planet.
Yeah, way too many emo kids there... That was partially killing it for me. The dude also made some really bold statements up on stage.
Too many emo kids? And Conor making an ass out of himself onstage?
Are you SURE we're talking about a Bright Eyes show?
Haha, You're right. I shouldn't expect Bright eyes to be anything but just that. The sad thing was that I sat through it to keep my "good spot" for Death Cab and they were just... meh. I should have left that stage after Iron & Wine.
Oh...and fuck yes! "Debra" is one of my favorites!
I wish Zola Jesus was on that list also, kinda sucks she got stuck on the Yeti.
I'm trying to turn this into a positive. Foster the People were on the Yeti and they attracted a big crowd last summer. Scratch that. They had a GIGANTIC crowd.
Additionally, I think she's a great fit for the yeti. I caught her at a small venue in Atlanta that holds no more than 125 people. Her style certainly accomidates an intimate crowd and atmosphere. The yeti will help sustain that feel.
I'm huge Beck fan. But I know when shit stinks. I was once a pretty big Bright Eyes fan. Did I think it was acceptable for Conor Oberst to fucking emo out with his hood on for 4 songs at 2011? Absolutely not.

Dudes, I don't know about you guys, but I had a great night last night! I didn't even see the lineup until almost an hour after it dropped. Whoops. The constant post conversation was just the best. Hope er'body feeling okay this morning!
