I seriously can't imagine how awesome Bon Iver is going to be on the main stage at the gorge. Holy fuck balls. Shit that's going to be unreals. For reals.
So I was thinking about the whole Jack White thing and I was wondering if he may bring out some special guests during his performance. Perhaps some of the people that he's recorded with since disbanding The White Stripes. Since he does not seem to be doing a full fledged tour at this time, the shows he does do may be special in that sense. Am I way off on this thought?
I would hope so. I don't think Racontours or the Dead Weather could headline, and the Whitestrips porbably just because they haven't been around in ages. If it is just him and a backup band then it doesnt really seem like the biggest act on the list.
Jack White is pretty well connected in the industry though, so I would expect him to have some friends.
People keep asking "will he be playing White Stripes songs, or songs from his other projects?" Well, what is he going to do? Play his solo album in it's entirety. Will that even fill a headlining set? I think to fill a headlining set he is pretty much going to have to play other music other than that from his new album.
I hope it turns into one of those 'alright, well what do you guys want to hear?' sets. He is a great performer and I am sure he has solo renditions of some of his bigger hits with White Stripes.
Jack White has such a huge catalog of music that I'd be highly disappointed if he doesn't play for at least 2 hours. He's top billing too, so I'm sure they're expecting him to bring it.
Since he'll be playing Hangout before Sasquatch we should have an idea of the type of stuff to expect from his set.
“Hey, Neck, was it before or after you dropped acid that she sucked your cock? Because that is important in the timeline as to when we get scrambled eggs."
Thanks for this FD!! After only two days I have found a couple of "FUCK YEAHS" in the lineup. Howlin' Rain being #1 and Jamey Johnson being #2. meow I am generally not a country fan, but, Jamey Johnson is the real deal. Good time shit-kicker outlaw country. Can't wait for both these sets.

I wouldn't be surprised if you are picturing me peeling a carrot with a staple gun.
A. Mr. Burrito: I'm fine with you not liking Beck, but please don't wish for EITS or Mogwai to be at the same time. That's just selfish for people who like all 3 of those things
D. Can't wait to hang wit' all youz This'll be fun.
A. You cool with a wish for Beck vs. The Roots? I'll take any of the 3.
D. I wanna party with yoooooooooou, lumpmaster.
A. Sure, that'll do! I'd like to see the Roots, but it definitely wouldn't be a tragedy.
If they make me choose between Beck and the Roots I'm going to get stabby. I've seen Beck before and would hate myself for missing his set since it's pretty rare for him to come around here, but I've never seen the Roots and they're probably more rare. It would be a horrible choice to have to make.

It's looking like some Mogwai/Beck overlap if they both play Monday. Sorry lumpy. Stay with me for all of Mogwai, you won't regret it. That's a burrito guarantee. I'm calling it now; next to The D, Mogwai will put on the 2nd best show of the festival.
I think for a brief moment, Sigur Ros defied the existence of existence and created our own parallel dimension where all dimensions became meaningless and we were joined together in a massive spiritual oneness of Icelandic mojo.

Really, how hard would it be to get Meg White on stage? Sure her schedule is probably open. If not, it wouldn't take much for any drummer to poumd out a few basic beats.

Well the whole thing is that the White Stripes are over. So if you just say "Jack White" but bring out Meg as his band, it's the White Stripes, and I don't think he'll let that happen. I still think he'll play some full-band versions of those songs.

I'm fairly convinced I'll miss some of Beck based on who else is playing that day. I'm hoping there will be a an overlap between Mogwai/Beck like there was with Deerhunter/Wilco last year.
Has anyone heard the date that they plan on releasing the stage times? My memory is fuzzy but I think it's normally late April or early May. Hope we don't have to wait that long.
