My first listen of Death Grips today , I only listened to 2 songs but I don't understand this. Is this good? I must be missing something.

No Rusty, you aren't missing anything. It's terrible.

What is dope about Death Grips, you ask?
-Zach Hill murdering the drum-demons using only his upper-body strength and a couple of wooden sticks. -A legitimately and truly terrifying MC knocking the walls out of hip-hop rhythms. -A record sleeve with a photograph of an erect pengis.

Can you recommend one song to get me started. I listened to the first two songs from the newest album, and it sounded terrible. I'd like to give them a fair shake before I write them off.

Nah, it's all gonna sound like that. If you don't like Death Grips, you're probably gonna know it right away. I wouldn't worry about it, I think there is an unusually high concentration of Death Grips fans on this board.

I'm fairly certain we had an in depth conversation about Death Grips after Coachella, and your opinion was far from this.

I don't recall (naturally), but I am fairly certain that I didn't hear Death Grips until well after Coachella. Like, last couple months maybe. I believe it was Pea who was all like Hell No after Coachella.

Pea was fucking wrong. Death Grips are truly more evil and terrifying than 99% of the metal bands on earth who devote their entire lives to ATTEMPTING to sound half as evil and terrifying as they do. Plus they can fucking make you dance to it. How the fuck is that even possible??

One of the very first things I did when I met Gramma and Stormy on my way home from Coachella was drop 'Hacker' in their face because that's how I make friends. Gramma was all like "I believe this to be dope" and Stormy laughed when he started talking about throwing black holes up at Linens and Things.

This is correct; my first exposure to Death Grips was in the Burritomobile. It was brief, though, and I didn't follow up on it until just recently. I do believe it to be dope.

It was too brief. And then we rode all over town looking for that damn LP that wasn't even widely distributed yet, so we shifted our focus to that weird-ass Transverse Temporal Gyrus record because by this point we were high as fuck.
