Ugh don't get me started. I love the Rio and if they get shut down over this BS I would expect some considerable backlash from people. That place is a landmark and shutting it down over some stupid technicality would drive me nuts.

I've already put in my entry and know that the deadline has passed, but I'm just going to put these 5 headliner/sub guesses here anyway:
Mogwai Ben Folds Five Bon Iver At The Drive-In The Shins

That would be the most unknown list of headliners ever. I'm willing to bet 50% of the people who went last year wouldn't know a single song by any of those bands. It also really scares me that people think ATDI could headline. I just don't get them at all and would rather lie on the hill with ear plugs in watching the clouds than listen to them.
That being said I can't think of a more plausible list at this point.

That's why I threw the /sub in there. They're not really the 'big name' headliners like other festivals, but Zacks likes to to that I think. I mean, MMJ/Ween/Massive Attack?

mogwai isn't even remotely close to subbing...

I have no idea what their reach actually is. I was going to put Explosions in the Sky on there too.

No reach. They're not relevant anymore.

ok, forget about Mogwai then. I do think they'll be on the lineup somewhere though.

That's exactly what I was thinking. That year seemed to be the year when the last 2-3 acts on every day had almost the same draw. I loved it, but then last year were 4 reasonably well know acts for headliners with weaker subs (IMO, save for the Lips). I would love a 2010 repeat with 2-3 quality acts closing out the main each night rather than bigger headliners, but Snacks seemed to be going in the direction of names people know last year. Nevertheless, I will be surprised tonight by something.

Man I love Portland. It's like a free for all here. Strip clubs galore, theater pubs, over 20 major breweries. I think the only law here is that you must have a good time. And you must buy your liquor at a state run liquor store. Although I am not sure if that will be changing after Washington voted to privatize.

Montana was the same way, and when I moved to California one of the weirdest things was seeing liquor for sale at CVS and CostCo.

When I went to Vegas I knew it was legal to drink on the strip, but still, being able to buy beer at drug stores, convenience stores, and gift shops always threw me off.

I've never been to Quebec also, they don't consider themselves part of Canada, so neither do I.
