I still don't understand how it's possible to hate Ween. If you hate Ween, then you are wrong. Period.

I hate Primus. I don't have much of an opinion of Ween. Throw in Mike Patton and you might notice a pattern of weird but goofy bands not appealing to me that much.
Someone also said I hate good bassists awhile ago and there might be a lot of truth to that

Someone also said I hate good bassists awhile ago and there might be a lot of truth to that I can understand not liking Primus if they're not your thing, and I can understand not getting Mike Patton as well. But Ween has such a diverse selection of songs that it'd be pretty hard to not like atleast a few of their songs.

I saw half their set at sasquatch and enjoyed it enough as well. I think the bigger issue is that they're too diverse. The few times I've sat down and listened to their albums I've gotten bored midway through. I completely understand their appeal but it's mostly not for me.

I know Mike Patton is all over the place, but Mr. Bungle is phenomenal. I wish Tomahawk would play Sasquatch. ...Oh shiiii I just looked on the Wikipedia for Tomahawk and it said, "In November 2011, the band announced on Facebook that a new album was coming soon." Maybe?!?! Rampant speculation!

for that type of statement Stingray gets TWO STRIKES. It's true. The turn over rate around here is amazing.

Am I the only one who wasnt overly impressed with Coachella's lineup? Black Keys are cool but meh, Radiohead is great sure, but who gives a fuck about Snoop and Dre anymore? They're walking caricatures of themselves. Dont get me wrong, there's a helluva lot of sweet fucking bands in the schedule, but the relatively high amount of Coachella players that do Sasq too leaves me unworried for the most part. Im mostly choked about Madness since they're unlikely to do more than one NA fest. If that lineup doesn't impress you, then what would? Coachella's lineup is so good that I feel sick to stomach cause I can't go. I hope Sasquatch's lineup is somewhat similar to Coachella's in terms of how diverse it is and all the different quality acts from different genre's of music.

I dont think Sonic Youth would ever headline if they played. In 2010 I saw them play a fest in Montreal and they played before Weezer, Pavement and Metric. They haven't done anything since then to make them move up in that list (well in the States they would be above Metric).
They put on a pretty awesome live show though.

So meow that we pretty much have no idea who the headliners are going to be, I'm going to guess... Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sonic Youth, Pixies, and Primus. You heard it here first. If that was the case, I would gladly say fuck Coachella (RHCP isn't really included in these feelings). Also, didn't we establish at one point that Ween-lovers hate Sonic Youth and vice-versa? I can gladly say that I love both.

That's like saying all Daft Punk fans hate Leonard Cohen. It's just a theory HG came up with. He isn't saying it is literally impossible to like both, but it's amazing how often it is the case. Yes they are different bands, but the Daft Punk comparisson isn't the same at all. Ween and Sonic Youth were both "alternative" bands playing in about the same era, so it makes sense fans of one band would like the other, but they generally don't. That is why it's so funny. Of course people in their 70s who dig Leonard Cohen probably dislike all EDM, not just Daft Punk, and 95% of Daft Punk fans probably couldn't name a Leonard Cohen tune, so that is much different. If you asked people who have spent hours listening to each, I'm sure most would say they like both. Ween v. Sonic Youth is different. I try it whenever either band is mentioned, and always get a kick out of the response.

I'd say it holds true at least 80% of the time. It's kinda funny.

Rise Against probably won't be a Loud Friday band now. They are playing at the Showare Center on April 19th.

I really liked Sonic Youth back in their prime, and would really like to see them live. I don't dislike ween, but I've never been a big fan. If they played Sasquatch they would most likely headline. There has been less established artists in the headlining spot.
