Fucking asshole phone.
Anyway, I basically just put my keys or phone or whatever on giant lanyards. My phone was around my neck basically 97% of the festival and that kept it safe. For passport, if it were me, id just bring a very small satchel to carry it inside. If its small and light it won't bother you while you're whipping yo' hair and stompin' yo feet. Plus you can put your other valueables in it? And sleep with it inside your undies.

With the newly added "re-entry" this year I think that the store near the entrance should invest in a nice big wall of lockers that people can rent for the day.
I'd love to be able to stash some warm clothes, a 6-pack for the zombie-walk, and assorted other stuff in a locker outside the venue but not a mile or two away. I wouldn't leave my passport in there or anything, but I think it's a good idea.

The Coachella lockers were the most life-saving festival convenience ever. It was so nice being able to leave my backpack, sweatshirt, and everything else locked up safely only a short walk away. Sasquatch is really fucking stupid for never providing any.

Lockers would be an awesome addition. I hate hauling around a jacket and pants in my bag all day, so I either skip out on the headliners or I freeze my ass off during them. This year was particularly bad with the temp dropping into the upper 30s at night. At least in/out privileges will allow me to shuttle back to the campground in the evening to change.

The trunk should be your best friend. That's where I would put anything I really cared about.

I'm so happy there is re-entry but literally life would be 1000 times easier with lockers within the venue.

pooping this thread because I have had people in my group of people get totally ransacked. In 2011, went with a big ass group (over 20 people). Saturday evening somebody/ies came by and robbed two of the tents blind. Like, took EVERYTHING. From socks to pillows to weed to food. Empty tents, all gone. They also went through everyone else's tents and stole various things (a few phones, lots of clothing). Luckily mine and my friend's tent was on the outside of the big circle of tents they made, AND we weren't total jamokes about our stuff and put everything in my lockable, non-windowed trunk before going into the venue.
Disturbing part about it all was that we're pretty sure it was some fuckin blue and yellow sharts. The night before they circled around our block a few times and actually confiscated a few joints from us while we were winding down. I may just be skeptical; but to me it seemed like they were casing our campsite. I was just reading about Spokane-cheeser security guards in another thread and I have to think that these were the type that. I'd hope I'm wrong for Sasquatch's sake, but still, the deed happened and I have to believe that TYPE of person did it.
Morals of the story: Don't go with a overly huge group. Don't be dumb about your personal stuff, lock that shit away when you're away.

The best way to protect valuables is to not bring anything that you absolutely don't need at Sasquatch and then keep everything in your trunk that you don't need. Easy access to.
Most likely if someone snatched everything from your site they rifling through it nearby like what happened to Davers last year.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that yellowshirts didn't take your buddies' socks.

Guy wasn't my buddy. But it was just a bugging feeling since they were around the site the night before and saw how everyone was leaving their stuff out. Also wasn't just socks. Multiple phones, money, all their clothes, substances, im talkin everything.

If the yellowshirts noticed how everyone was leaving all of their shit out and unsecured, then probably every other person who walked by noticed it too. If you lock your shit up, it isn't going to get stolen. It's fucking miraculous in its simplicity.

I'm glad that I didn't have to have my wallet and iPod and corn chips stolen in order to learn that cleverly hiding them behind a canvas flap with a zipper on it isn't an adequate safeguard against theft.

Drylon got his warm clothes stolen once, which was really crazy. Who does that? It is really unfortunate that there is shit like that going down at Sasquatch. But for the most part I think if you lock up any valuables you should be good. Or, be like us and have a broken zipper on your tent so it is hard to open.
