I like how the two previous posts about this link to the WSJ, but cbats links us to Pitchfork.

I like how the two previous posts about this link to the WSJ, but cbats links us to Pitchfork. it's pointless to hide that i got it from pitchfork cause everyone knows anyway. I don't believe for a second that anyone else actually got it from the wall street journal blog... and yeah pea, i checked here before i saw the disucssion in the lineup board. Oh well

So for the 2 people who care: Mikael Akerdfeldt of Opeth, and Steve Wilson of Porcupine Tree have a collaboration album coming out in April 2012. So excited.

Going to suck so hard. Haha sorry Geno. Steve Wilsons new album is pretty fucking good. Apparently it's going to sound similar to that with a little Opeth influence.

I heard about this album earlier this year, and haven't heard anything about it since. I am looking foreword to hearing what this collaboration is going to sound like.

Metric releasing a new album in early 2012. Freaking awesome. I would bet a bunch of festival appearances will follow.

I've long since resigned myself to the fact that Metric will be at every concert festival I ever attend.

I don't think they've ever played Sasquatch?

i will say this about Metric, they weren't nearly as irritating as i expected them to be when i saw them last year.

I really enjoy whichever Stars album my girlfriend has in her car. Other than that I haven't listened to anything by them. *edit* The album is 'Set Yourself on Fire'.
It's kind of a running joke I have with a few people that Metric plays every Canadian festival they possibly can. I think just in this past year they played both Squamish and Sonic Boom (their 2nd time at that festival), and previously they were at Pemberton, Lilith Fair, Ottawa Bluesfest, Osheaga, Edgefest and virtually any festival happening in Montreal or Toronto.
You're right though, I don't think they've ever done Sasquatch. If they get their new record out early enough in the year I could easily see them there in 2012.
