Hey! I really like this new Andrew Bird so far. I have to get my hands on that. I used to listen to Andrew Bird a lot. It's been a while so it would be nice to hear some new stuff.

I don't think Noble Beast was received very well on this board, but I really enjoyed it, and the new one is sort of along the same lines.

I bet Lumpy is the best dancer. I definitely wouldn't bet on that. (But thank you.)

I think Andrew Bird is so annoying What part is annoying? I love Andrew Bird, but this is not a condescending question at all. I am seriously interested as to which part of his music bothers you.

Oh yeah shit, sorry Cat.
I feel like his music has all of the production flairs of really epic shit, but the melodies are boring so he sounds melodramatic, which I find annoying. I also have devoted almost no time to really trying to get Andrew Bird and am not throwing stones

I always forget how much I love Andrew Bird between his albums. Then he releases a new one and I'm like, "Oh dang! I totally love this dude!"
I don't think he's put out an album that I haven't enjoyed, and the new one is no exception. It has in fact catapulted him dangerously close to my top 10 must-see Coachella acts. I'm hoping for a sunset Outdoor Theater set so he can whistle the sun behind the Santa Rosa mountains.

I feel the same way about Andrew Bird as I do about Alanis Morrisette and John Popper of Blues Traveler -- they are EXTREMELY talented, but Andrew Bird can't stop whistling just like Morisette and Popper are completely incapable of putting down their damn harmonicas. It's definitely possible to have too much of a good thing, especially when that good thing is so fucking shrill.

Oh man. Maybe it's because I'm constantly whistling, but I can't get enough of that sweet bird whistle!

If Andrew Bird didn't whistle as often as he does, it'd be such a waste of his greatest strength.

Not sure how many of you cats are Phil Elverum fans, but Mount Eerie is set to release two full lenghts this year. I know I'm excited. Big fan of the muddled lo-fi percussion he does so well. 'Clear Moon' out late May and 'Ocean Roar' to follow later in the year.

Elverum is a wanker. He owes me like a hundred hours of my life back for all the times I listened to The Glow pt. 2 hoping it would click.

Yo HG! I know Elverum is no King of Leon, but check out 'Black Wooden Ceiling Opening', assuming you haven't already. Personally, Glow Pt 2 is one of my favorite really loud headphone albums.

Under any other circumstances, with any other artist, I probably would. But Elverum is officially off my list.
Fool me seven times, shame on you. Fool me eight or more times, shame on ME.

If it helps, BWCO is only like 7 tracks and sounds nothing like the glow pt 2. You probably won't like it but what's the harm in listening to 2 tracks.

Elverum is hit and miss, and I too have been fooled by him several times. The Glow pt. 2 was more on the miss side and Black Wooden Ceiling Opening is probably his biggest hit for me. I too think you should check this one out, HG. C'moooon.
I don't know if y'all smoke cigarettes, but I quit around the time BWCO was released, and therefor have a deep embedded love and appreciation for the song "Don't Smoke". Every time I was craving a cig I would just throw on that jam and Phil would talk me out of it.
