If I don't want a communicable disease then I won't touch MC Ride or his mic. Having a cymbal hurled at you is not a choice. This is not the reason that I brought up TMV. I brought them up because Death Grips did something that seems to be like a huge dick move. That dick move being that they porpoisefully didn’t show up to shows. These shows had fans there (just like people on this board) waiting to see them. If this would have happened at Sasquatch I am guessing people would be up in arms. Instead, some think that it somehow had artistic validity to it. That is what I think is hilarious. I already understand why people were upset about TMV. Wrong place wrong time for that show. That show burned bridges between people on this board and that band due to what some thought was a dick move. I personally would be more upset about a band doing what Death Grips have been doing though.

If this would have happened at Sasquatch I am guessing people would be up in arms. When they got pissed off and walked off the stage after the first song at Sasquatch, I seriously didn't think they'd return. It's just something you need to start expecting from them. It's what they do.

I'm don't even know much about Death Grips, but at that moment I was convinced they weren't going to come back. Their reputation preceded them in my case.
I have to say that it's pretty funny how Death Grips were the only band all weekend that I saw that had the "in between artists" music play during their set. They're probably the one band that was there that weekend that I wouldn't want that to happen to, if I were the festival organizer.

I think that everyone is being dicks, and I do not know why one person would get mad at one and not the other. Personally, that situation has never happened when I went to see the Death Grips. I am not really sure how I would react until it was happening but I can say I wouldn't be too surprised.

At this point I would actually rather tear apart a children's drum kit to a NO LOVE DEEP WEB CD on some poopin' club speakers than see Death Grips perform sans maestro Zach Hill. When he returns they will be cool again.
I was talking to a guy whom I had just met after DG's Bonnaroo set about how, since their last two tours have been variations on 2/3 of the band, we wouldn't be surprised if their next tour consisted of Zach and Flatlander (the DJ) without MC Ride, and that would be some good clean fun.

I've been drafting, in my head, a defense of my statement RE: Death Grips for the last couple of days, but I shat it all out a second story window when I found this quote which sums up everything I have to say about it, as well as explaining why all of my favorite concert experiences have ended up being my favorite concert experiences.
"The truth of a thing is the feel of it, not the think of it."
-- Stanley Kubrick

Thomas Pridgen just leaked 15 unreleased tracks from The Mars Volta. He is the drummer that was on Bedlam and they all parted on salty terms. I am probably going to download them even though I normally don’t partake in leaked music. If anybody is interested he put it out on his twitter account.

New Death Grips track. Sounds a lot different from their previous songs.

I was going to respond with something like 'Guess you Canucks can look forward to seeing Mother Mother and Dan Man Gan on the top line of all of your festival lineups from now on', but then I realized that is basically already true.
For real, though, that is one of the stupidest fucking things I've ever heard.
