jesus. Gwar's guitarist (Cory Smoot) died today as they were about to cross the border, and they're not canceling their shows. First show is here in town. I've never seen them, although I've always been curious. I don't even know what kind of an atmosphere that show is going to have.

I've never seen them, although I've always been curious. I don't even know what kind of an atmosphere that show is going to have. I saw them two years ago and it was great. The crowd was nowhere near as fucked as I thought it would be. I would say that if you enjoy loud music and a fun show then GWAR is not to be missed. Sucks about their guitarist though.

Definitely a bummer, but they sure live the lifestyle that eventually leads to something like that. Glad I got to see them a couple times within the last decade.

Apparently the stages were running a bit late this evening at Fun Fun Fun Fest, and Danzig got the cord pulled during their encore, before they played "Mother." I got a drunken phone call from a friend who is there.

Did you just post a link from Fox News? Whoa. You're right. That explains the shoddy journalism. I think that helped the article become much more entertaining. Weird considering the friend who showed me that is pretty damn liberal.

I got a drunken phone call from a friend who is there. Spent the weekend in Austin for my girlfriend's birthday. Out of 11 people, I was the only one who really wanted to go to FFF Fest every day. I lost and am still super fucking upset about it. Worst part: walking past the festival and barely hearing pieces of Okkervil River. UUUGGGHHHHH

That looks like it would be my favorite festival of the year. I love their lineups. Creative. Out of the box. Fun. Perfect.

I also love that each stage was a different musical style.

Dude I know. The attitude was "We're only in Austin for a weekend, we should enjoy the city itself, we can see most/all of these bands elsewhere, etc."
My response was "SLAYER" but to no avail.

Wow that's pretty incredible. Weird that Pacific Theme is their supposed last song ever. I would have picked Lover's Spit.
