Are we talking about Death Grips now? Oh wait, they're not contenders in this contest because they gave us that dope-ass shizzniiit fo' freeeeeeeee baby!
SHIT'S 'BOUT TA GET KAMIKAZE, FUCK A IchuneS
The album has been streaming on NPR for a few weeks. They have also been working on it for the last 3 years and have released about 1/3 of the album in singles for free.
I am calling it now, he will be on the MAIN stage next year. Probably a shitty early afternoon spot but he will rock that bitch none the less.

I'm with mrlahey on this one. Macklemore shows are off the hook. I didn't realize he was gaining such popularity outside of the NW.
Tell me you wouldn't get down to this song. This is fucking awesome:
This forum has been so snobbish lately. Macklemore is great, and I really can't fathom why anyone would be confused about why he would be at Sasquatch. Hate him or love him, the dude represents the Northwest like none other and is blowing the fuck up.

The dude sold out the WAMU Theater....that's not early afternoon material, that's like subheadliner level.
I can vouch for the dude's growing non-NW popularity though. He's playing two sold out nights at a 1800 person club out here in Minnesota. I mean yeah, Minnesota's rap scene is the only one whiter than Seattle's but it's still impressive.
I would love to see him higher than say...5pm but if they had Brother Ali on at noon in 2010 I wouldn't expect any higher billing for Mr. Haggerty. Sunset spot would be one of the greatest moments in my life.

I have not seen him besides between sets last year and I truly did love that raccoon. I don't know that I really have any judgment about him. I will say that my friend was sitting with me during that mini performance and she asked who it was and wrote it down because she really liked it.

I didn't see the raccoon, and I believe it was because I left when Tenacious D left the stage while I ran to Spiritualized. Are we confusing when the raccoon made the appearance? I thought it was before Beck (from what I've heard)? I saw Macklemore between Girl Talk and Pretty Lights (I think), but the lights were off, the sound was low, and it sounded like typical filler music between bands while people ran to the Pea Tank?

I know this isn't the rampant speculation thread but their popularity is not remotely comparable in Seattle. Macklemore sold out WAMU Theater which holds 5,000 people, Brother Ali is playing Neumos which holds like 700. For comparison, when he was in town 2 months ago Jack White played at the WAMU Theater...
Yea Macklemore would easily pack the floor and hill if he played the mainstage at Sasquatch again. He did pretty well for himself at Bumbershoot last year.
Have Blue Scholars been booked any higher than an early afternoon spot(only thing comparable that I can think of)? Just curious, It is dope that he sold out WAMU 1 year after he packed the fuck out of Key Arena but Im doubting he can pull that off anywhere other than Seattle for a venue that size.
At the end of the day he will be playing main stage at Sasquatch 2013, and you can quote me on that shit.

I just wanted to fix my iPod and Macklemore just wanted to buy a fancy new telephone that can also take high quality photographs of his sold out WAMU show. Neither of us handled that situation well.
I will cry tears for our children when Macklemore plays the main stage and Death Grips play the Bigfoot next year, but I do that every year.
I think for a brief moment, Sigur Ros defied the existence of existence and created our own parallel dimension where all dimensions became meaningless and we were joined together in a massive spiritual oneness of Icelandic mojo.
