Dude Pea, I was just about to post this...I've been away from the internet a bit so I knew I'd be late on this. I had no clue that guy was like that at all based on how poppy and sugar coated his tunes are...totally interesting read if anyone has the time/cares at all about passion pit/ cares about mental health and pop music.

I'm glad someone else read it! I really don't think anyone realizes how interesting of an article it is.

Thanks Pea. Really interesting read.
Feel bad about making a joke when the news dropped about them taking time off. Hopefully he can get the help he needs and live a happy and fulfilling life, whether or not that involves music.

A sneak peak at the largest Wall ever created. It's the last stop of his current tour, and likely the last time he'll perform the Wall again.

I was going to put it in quotes, but I didn't want to give it away.

Next to Jeff Mangum, Bill Doss was the most important of the E6 collective to me. His bright, beautiful brand of psychedelia influenced my taste in music in my early twenties as much as any other songwriter ever has. I remember haranguing an employee at Amoeba for two and a half hours one afternoon with a copy of The Future History of the Sunshine Fix in my hand and saying repeatedly, "Help me find more shit that sounds like this."
One night, I drove around the streets of San Francisco listening to Age of the Sun until I could see light on the horizon.
Doss had a cleaner, more focused notion of what the Elephant 6 boys were trying to put forth than any single one of them. I will miss him. I miss him right now. God damn it.

Ah damn. I really wish I would have saw them when they played Musicfest NW last year. Sad news.

I saw Olivia Tremor Control in 1996 and rested on those laurels like a fucking fool. They've been through Portland three times in the last four years and I dropped the ball every fucking time.
Never miss the shows that matter, people.

Ah damn. I really wish I would have saw them when they played Musicfest NW last year. Sad news. That show was a madhouse. I left after two songs because I was basically pasted up against the back wall and couldn't see anything. Really strange venue, long and very narrow.

Holy shit. I wonder what happened. I didn't know if he was in ill health or something.
