Hahaha. I don't know how to verify this but apparently this story was broken by the website a kid I graduated highschool runs.

Weird that it's a link from an Edmonton radio station? How did Sonic get to release it?!?!

Sounds fucking phenomenal, but I'm not really buying it yet....the vocals on the verse don't sound as crisp as they should be.
I guess we will see on Friday

Someone did make a good point about it though. Chromeo has been making these exact sounds for the better part of the past decade and everyone called it retro cheese. Now Daft Punk does it and people are already calling it a revolution.

However, how fucking awesome and appropriate is it that Daft Punk stays silent during these past few years of the EDM explosion, only to return as a band with actual instruments haha.

I got a big kick out of that. Also I thought everybody liked Chromeo. Especially after that insane midday main stage set in '11.

I've got to admit that Chromeo actually IS way more cheesy than Daft Punk though. Their productions are kind of silly (not to mention leagues below Daft Punk's production chops) and they seem like they're well aware that. They still put on a hell of a show, but I don't think anyone can take their music very seriously. Nothing against them, I'm a big fan, but that's the way that I see it.

If you're referring to the talk box/vocoder sound then maybe, but Thomas was dishing out disco bangers with real instruments well before Chromeo was around.

I'm sort of just referring to the overall sound of Get Lucky, from the lyrics to the vocal stylings to the beat to the instrumentation. Believe me, of all the people on the board you should know I would never complain about anything sounding like Chromeo. And yes, I'm also aware that Chromeo is far from an original sounding band themselves. I'm a happy happy dude with what I've heard so far.
ALSO NEW CHROMEO COMING OUT THIS YEAR AWWWWWWW YEEEEEEEEAAAAAA

His album title has a hashtag in it?
For some reason this pisses me off a lot.
