Ah, Showbiz came out in 1999. Still.

Just because there's dubstep in the trailer doesn't mean there's dubstep in the album, I don't think. Maybe.

I just watched that. Anyone know any good tattoo removal places? Haha. On the flipside, just because Weezer let everything from Make Believe on happen doesn't mean I don't still love them. (I know HG has different views on that though.)

It's true. Once a band shits the bed as thoroughly as Weezer has, they get the kiss-off from ol' HG.

If only Matt Sharp stayed. He wouldn't have let this happen.

Man a year ago I would have been all over this Muse talk. I just don't care anymore. I loved them, now I don't.

The band I did that Weezer cover show with on Halloween has all agreed on this exact fact. I always see it as Rivers having the raw clay, then Matt Sharp molding that clay into something great.

I think Sharp smelled a rat in Cuomo from the very first.
Why couldn't the Rentals have become the elder statesmen of radiorock instead of Weezer? I think the world would be a better place right now.

Still trying to figure out whether I agree with that. I'll let you know when I find out.

I saw new Weezer perform the first two albums. I don't know why I'm admitting to this publicly. It wasn't entertaining, and probably gave me cancer.

Another stage collapse...isn't that like the 5th one in 2 years. I know there was one in Ottawa last summer. The wind was pretty heavy for the first hour or so of the Primus show last night. Les even said "hopefully they don't shut us down tonight". During the intermission I thought about the accidents last year, and was talking to my buddy about it. They had to fasten the speakers better with rope because they were swaying. It wasn't a very solid stage either. When they started playing again all thoughts of my safety were gone.

Boo, no watchie in Canada.
Is there a reason she changed her last name? Is this common after gender reassignment?
Fun fact: when trying to look up my question I just asked, I discovered some countries, like Mexico, Australia and parts of the United States, don't allow gay marriage, but allow gender reassigned people to marry people that are the same sex as they formerly were.
For some reason I find that very amusing. If people are upset about about 2 guys getting married, you would think they would flip their shit about a guy marrying a girl who used to be a guy.

I don't find that surprising at all since the gender reassigned person is now legally (I'm assuming with the legally part) the gender he or she has reassigned to. And in that case they are now entering into a heterosexual marriage union. The part about people being up in arms -- I agree that most people who are against gay marriage tend to also be against transgender people in general and I would think they would object in general too, but I don't think there's much they could do about it since the transgender person is, legally speaking, entering into a heterosexual union.
What I don't agree with is there is a clinic here in Vancouver that is meant for women but their policy states that patients must have been born female. So that means any male-to-female transgenders that are legally considered women (post-operative) can't get service but a female-to-male transgender can walk right in. And unfortunately it's a bit of a sticky point as someone in my extended family is the person who ran this clinic and came up with the policy, which made Christmas dinner conversation quite exciting one year.

Is this a non-profit or government run place? If it is non-profit I wonder if securing funding had anything to do with this? It's so terrible and unfortunate but you are way more likely to receive funding for a male services facility than you are for a woman's. I am currently working in such a place where we were only able to receive the needed funding if we ran a male only facility. It's always hard to compromise your integrity and beliefs in such matters but it is often a necessary evil in order to get a successful program running and hope to convince your funders of the need to open the services to women once they have trust and faith in your program. I'm happy to say we have been given the go ahead to open a second facility next year that will accommodate both males and females. It took 3 years to get this.
