Oh absolutely. It would be pathetic. I'd guess confidently that 80% of last year's crowd have literally no idea who Pulp even are.

I suppose it makes sense. I thought for sure that GBV would have been a huge draw this year but watching the videos afterwards was downright embarrasing. Well, if they played I'd be front fucking row. Jarvis Cocker is one sexy cool motherfucker.

it's sad there are so many Americans that have absolutely no fucking clue who Pulp even are.

It isnt like Sasquatch hasnt had headliners that arent well know before. Seriously, how many people know who Massive Attack is? Their turnout was pretty pityful for a second day headliner.
I am willing to bet Pulp would draw a bigger crowd than Massive Attack and by that logic they could headline a night. I could be way off base though.

Pulp never has had any real radio play in U.S. America; no real following at all. Massive Attack might not be hugely popular with the kids but I'm certain they are better known.
Turnout for headlining acts at Sasquatch doesn't mean anything except that most people who attend Sasquatch have terrible fucking taste in music.

At least your taste in music is defined. What bothers me are the human weathervanes.

Their turnout was pretty pityful for a second day headliner. Was it? I was down at the front having my mind blown. Best Sasquatch Show I've seen to date. as much as i love Pulp, i highly doubt they could draw a larger crowd than Massive Attack - in North America, at least.

I've never heard Massive Attack on the radio but evey now and then I will hear Common People pop onto the frequencies. With my friends it is more likely they will think Massive Attack is a new action movie rather than a band. Could be a regional thing, but I think Pulp would sell more tickets than Massive Attack in Vancouver. I was down at the front having my mind blown. Best Sasquatch Show I've seen to date. I loved Massive Attack's set, one of my favourites for sure, but the amount of people on the hill was probably half of what it was during Vampire Weekend or LCD Soundsystem. Pavement had them beat to (though you could argue Pavement scared everyone off the hill). People were sitting down on the floor and werent having any trouble seeing.

Suggesting that Pavement scared people off the hill is generous. To suggest that Malkmus spent the entire first half of the weekend filling his own personal Honey Bucket to the brim and then upended it at the top of the hill right after LCD Soundsystem finished playing so that he could watch his refuse wash over anyone who stayed around to watch Pavement perform would be more accurate.

Naw they just flock to the stupid fucking dance tent. I have terrible fucking taste in music. Me too apparently...I only saw one headliner, The Foos. No regrets. Pretty sure there were more people in the tent to see MSTRKRFT and Major Lazer than Modest Mouse and Wilco.
