I did this last year and good portion of the bands I sent to adam were on the line up. Please make a short list of bands you think should be at sasquatch next year. Please only list large bands if there is word of a new album. The bands that have the best chance of actually showing up on the lineup are the smaller bands that adam probably hasn't heard yet. example: dale earnhardt jr jr buke and gass geographer starfucker toro y moi modeselektor beat connection Owen: Sasquatch curator.

But in all seriousness:
Harlem Times New Viking The Strange Boys Fiery Furnaces Superchunk Yuck The Men Toro Y Moi EMA Kurt Vile (or was Kurt Vile there last year?) HEALTH Ty Segall Swans Titus Andronicus Panda Bear Atlas Sound Fucked Up Iceage Dan Deacon Shovels and Rope Wild Flag Xiu Xiu
those are just smaller ones (except Superchunk and Panda Bear) off the top of my head.

There were two artists that played dubstep, and neither played 100% dubstep sets. One played the late night slot and the other was in the dance tent. Both completely and easily avoidable. I'm not understanding how that was such a problem. I didnt really mind the dubstep in the festval, but in the campground (at least in our area) it was unavoidable. I know they have no control over what people play in the campground, but man I heard so much skrillex that weekend that I went from maybe wanting to split his set with the decemberists to having no interesting in seeing him by monday. So, I guess my issue with dubstep is more with its fans than the actual music itself. Oh, but I agree, 2 dubstep acts is perfectly reasonable for the fest, I would just prefer if it wasnt blasted 24/7 in the campground.

So, I guess my issue with dubstep is more with its fans than the actual music itself. I'll be honest, I can really dig the cool flashing lights but the sound of dubstep makes me want to punch something, and I think it's kind of the same thing as like Dave Matthews Band -- my objection begins and ends with and can't get beyond the fanbase. Hmmmm....

For late night, I'd love to see: Justice Pretty Lights Magnetic Man Moby Waldo's People
Otherwise, my wish list for 2012 would include: Radiohead Queens of the Stone Age Butthole Surfers Titus Andronicus Jane's Addiction Primus Arcade Fire (flame away)
Yes, I'm borrowing from other's lists quite heavily.

I could see them playing Sasquatch for sure. And if they do, I plan on being at another stage. They're not really an act I enjoy.

It's possible that post worked its way into my subconsious.
I dont mind that people like it, I just get really annoyed when people think that any time there is drinking or drungs involved the music must be 100% dubstep because anything else is too slow or depressing.
I was camping in the summer and there was a war going on about what music came out of the stereo at night. About 4 people played nothing but dub.
A beligerently drunk guy I met in a bar a few weeks ago summed up certain dubstep fans perfectly. Dub came up in conversation and he just went nuts.
"Oh man you guys like dubstep?!?! They are like the best band ever I love them so much. You know that song thats like ohmmmpwoommmwommowmowmwomwomw? Or the one thats like boom tsss boom tsss booowwwww booww boww booww boww? Fuck man those are like my 2 favourite songs right now!"
My one buddy who likes dubstep wasnt too impressed.

The good thing about festivals like Sasquatch is it's pretty rare that there's nothing I want to listen to on any of the stages. If one stage isn't to my liking, that usually just means one fewer conflict on the schedule for me.

They completely ruined Nero for me, as well as Skrillex (though to be fair about 1/2 of the ruin of Skrillex was Skrillex' own performance). Of course, I'm old and curmudgeonly by the standards of most dubstep kidz.

Pretty Lights and Ghostland Observatory would make for some killer late sets. There are not many artists right now that can match the stage production they have.
Amon Tobin would be fucking epic. I can see him taking his show to some festivals next year.
DJ Shadow. The Shadowsphere.

I think Justice would be the obvious electronic act, since they have a new album coming out and they're fucking awesome.

Amon Tobin's ISAM would be goddamn unreal. That said, here's hoping he brings that to Coachella.

Primus closing out Monday or perhaps Primus headlining Friday. One will destroy me for the rest of the fest, the other for my ride home, both will be the greatest.

Before this turns into the wish list thread, I created that thread tonight. Post your wish lists here: sasquatchfest.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=music&thread=1598We've established fairowen knows Adam Zacks, and will provide him a list of this board's suggestions, so try to keep it manageable. Look at it this way, if you randomly met Adam Zacks at a show, and had 30 seconds to tell him who you think should play Sasquatch 2012, know that he would forget every band you mention if you provide a list of 56 instead of two. This thread is about who makes sense, a band Adam Zacks might not know much about.
