Yeah, what Pitchfork said. And Pitchfork should know. Pitchfork loves Jeff Mangum. Also I love when people spell his name Jeff Magnum. Gives an entirely different idea of him.

I don't think Lumpy has ever been to a punk or metal show. Awwww Lumps <3 Whaaaaa? Punk shows are what I grew up on (though I will say I have only been to 2 metal shows in my life). I think you guys are missing the key words of "THAT WEEKEND" in my above post. There were no "mosh pits" per se. But Vampire Weekend was the biggest pretend mosh pit.

One punk show I got dropped 6 feet from crowd surfing straight down to the cement floor.
Dammit, I've reached a new low trying to prove my punk cred. CONGRATULATIONS EVERYONE

Yup. Regardless of whether anyone knows who they are, that is probably the first legitimate rumor/confirmation of the year.

So some of the members of Hot Chip and LCD Soundsystem are in a new band called New Build. The first single is suppose to come out later this month and the album/tour is supposed to happen next year. I would be curious to see if they make a stop at Sasquatch. The sample of the single sounds pretty cool so far! pulseradio.net/articles/2011/11/new-from-hot-chip

I worked on a music video for a Philly band, The War on Drugs, a few weeks ago. After the shoot I asked them if they'd be playing any festivals next year. The guitarist replied with Sasquatch.

all potential Drew/Fleet Foxes references aside, this does sound like a believable rumor. With how favorable their new album has been received, The War on Drugs seem primed to become the next big thing. An appearance at the Gorge seems likely.
Also, they're pretty decent live.

I'll update it now, but in the future whoever catches a new rumor can go ahead and update that original post.
