We all have them. Bands you just never got into but have put out some songs that you absolutely love.
I have quite a few, but the one that has most recently (since the album came out) struck me is On Melancholy Hill by the Gorillaz. For some reason they just never did much for me, but that song is one of my favorite songs to come out in the past few years. The bass line and instrumental melody together is just flat out gorgeous.

Coldplay - Fix You
I really, really, really don't like Coldplay, but that fucking manipulative crescendo followed by the unreal harmonies of Fix You give me goosepoops every damn time.

Damn! Good one. I remember us agreeing on that one a little while back. That song is freakin massive.
The only reason I would be ok with them headlining Coachella would be so I could sing along with everyone to the last line of that song haha.

I adore Stars, but yeah...I don't think they have come close to topping that one. Amazing song.

Not that I super dislike Fatboy Slim, but none of the other stuff that came out made me wanna investigate a whole lot further.
The video is super 90's rad too!

This might come dangerously close to one-hit wonder territory, so let's agree to exclude songs like Come On Eileen.
(Ironic or sarcastic "Dexy's Midnight Riders actually had a bunch of other great songs!" posts will be deleted on sight.)

Holy shit this just reminded me of a hilarious moment I had with a friend maybe 8-10 years ago. This was back in the days of Kazza so there were single songs sprinkled throughout my library. I lived with the folks so my brother would download some songs and they would end up in my list. Every now and then he would say things like:
Him: "Black Eyed Peas, what the hell?" Me: "My brother probably downloaded that one" Him: "Nickelback?!?! Say it aint so!" Me: "Brother" Him: "Haha your brother likes Pink?" Me: *embarassed look* "What? I like that song..."
The song was Just Like a Pill. I havent listened to it since probably around that time, but at the time I liked it despite having no interest in her other music.

I'm not a U2 fan, but 'Where the Streets Have No Name' gives me goosepoops every time.
Also, Empire Ants is my jam.

Freelance Whales suck, this song is a beautiful sunrise. It was unimpressive live (Squatch '10).

This is really a hard one for me. Of coarse there are many one hit wonders, but I can not say I don't like them.
