Side note: How much Crossover is there in the Squamish and Sasquatch lineups. I stop reading after it says Bruno Mars so I don't really know what they have to offer.

Last year Vampire Weekend, Mackelmore and Reignwolf played both.
This year the crossovers are Broken Bells, Foster the People, Atmosphere, Boys Noise and Black Joe Lewis.

A local radio station just said on facebook that they have sold 18000 tickets so far. That's actually less than I expected by now. Hopefully ticket sales are sluggish from here on out and they have to fill out the undercard with something decent in hopes of selling more tickets.
I'm just glad it wasn't sold out too fast, that would ensure that all future incarnations of this fest would follow the same formula.

Hell yeah. I'm more than happy to eat my words on this one. Actually kind of surprised they haven't announced any more acts yet but I guess there's a long ways to go.

Man, it looks even less impressive when they break it into 3 days. Anyways, single day tickets on sale Friday, $150.

At this point I'm starting to believe the rumours that Pemberton isn't gonna happen. They said they'd have the lineup out mid-January and now February is almost over with no news....
And of course, the 3 acts I'd be most into seeing at Squamish (Arcade Fire, Lykke Li and Pete Tong) are each on a different day. I think the chances of me going to this thing have just gone even further down.

Pemberton is keeping their Facebook active and telling people to be patient. Also, they have been hiring security. I doubt they would keep promoting it if it was going to fall through.
I think it's definitely going to happen, but it might not be as big as Im hoping for.

I really doubt Pemberton will be cancelled. Ignoring the fact they already sold a bunch of presale tickets, there was a news story the other week about them hiring horse-owning locals for security (which is...yeah.) It's just crazy to me they'd be unable to fill a couple days - I mean, aren't the Tragically Hip perpetually on hand to fill out any Canadian festivals?
The stronger likelihood in my eyes is just a rather underwhelming lineup. Which would be hilarious, if both B.C. festivals shit the bed, but also sad. Squam does look pretty awful broken into three days...ahhhhh what might've been.
edit: Jeffed me to it!

Pemberton is probably still happening. Bonnaroo is in June and they JUST released their lineup, Pemberton could announce a month later and still be on pace with most festivals.
I think they got Outkast. Unless I'm missing something they could very well be back in North America by then. They probably lost a headliner, and now that Sasquatch and Squamish lineups are out they really have no reason to rush the lineup at this point.
Coming back to Squamish, my god Friday is the biggest wasteland of a music festival day I have ever seen.

I have a friend that has extra tickets to that, he would probably part with them on the cheap if anyone is interested.

Thanks for the glowsticks last year Davers.
We were torn on where to stay and actually found Yurts at Eagle Vista campground, next to the festival. They have 2 versions, a hotel-like one on their site, which Brand Live take every year, and a few tent only ones, hard sides and a dome top, 16 feet across with a patio. They are reasonably priced too, might be worth checking out if you decide to go.
We ended up going with the vip camping anyways as we wanted to be in the festival grounds and we spend most of the time lounging around the camp site.
I asked them who would be feeding me the grapes and was told that position has yet to be filled.

I'll be doing VIP camping as well (basically against my will, last time I ever make a promise without seeing the lineup first) so we'll probably see you again this year given how small the area should be, I heard there was only 50 spots sold. That option you listed sounds pretty awesome though, I'll have to give it some thought in future years, though there's a good chance I may be done with this festival in the future.

Yeah, it is a bit of a setback this year, but it is a yearly trip for a friend and I, was a tough sell to the wives though when we could have gone to Mexico for the same price. The cost is high, but as my one solo trip a year I can deal with it, there was no way we were going to sit in the squallor of the regular camping, it was pretty bad over there last year. Too old for that shit now.
The camping area is the back half of last years glamping area, from the tree line over. It is a camping area for the rest of the year. We will have our own showers etc again and a personal concierge apparently. They said that they are working on other benefits as well, whatever that may be. Will be nice over in the treed area, have a bit of shade and maybe get the hammock set up.
50 is the number, I have been told there will be a bit more than the 15x15 as well.
I'll throw in early on your sticks this year if you do it again, just PM me.

Apparently Pemberton is releasing their lineup soon. Read on the Coachella boards that a member had an interview with HUKA earlier this week. Will be interesting to see what they put out.

I was sort of on the thought that Pemberton was going to be called off this year, will be interesting to see what they do come up with though. I figured that once Squamish was 3/4 sold out they would pack it in.
We were thinking about going there instead, but the pricing was higher than Squamish to have a decent camp spot and didn't think it was worth the speculation. A Bruno in the hand is worth two in the bush?

They added some artists, and I gotta say some are pretty solid. It's weird, I had a dream I was talking with the promoter and basically told him itks way too expensive for what you get and they should add more artists.
Highlights:
Nas, Temper Trap, CHVRCHES and Tune-Yards.
