Looks like they're trying to directly compete with Sasquatch. Crazy...

Holy shit, that is a massive jump. I don't think they have ever had more than 12,000 people per day before.
Live Nation must be insane. Expand Sasquatch to two weekends and triple the capacity of Squamish. I know music festivals are 'so hot right now' but this seems a little extreme.

Do you think the lineup will reflect this almost tripling in size? The lineup is pretty good this year, but not as deep as I would like it to be if I were to travel up there. Next year if the lineup is appropriate for the festival size then I would definitely consider going!

I can't think that they wouldn't be doing something much larger and deeper. They haven't even sold out the much smaller capacity this year yet.

The lineup would have to be on par with something like Sasquatch in order for this move to make sense. It sounds like the are expanding the grounds a lot, so I'd expect 3 bigger stages and probably the silent disco. They will probably go three full days (the first day this year isn't really a day at all, just 5 bands) to get people to come from further than just Vancouver/Whistler.
It will be interesting to see how the do with this. They will have had 4 years to get all the kinks worked out, so there is a chance it could do pretty well. If they come out swinging with a massive lineup it could be a success, especially if both Sasquatches sell out (which I am not expecting).

If they put out a competitive lineup next year I'll probably end up skipping Sasquatch 2.0 for this instead. Assuming some of you Canucks attend as well.

Based on early calculations, it's not looking likely that I'll be at Sasquatch 2014. If I make any festival next year, it will probably be Squamish.

I'll be there because missing a music festival that is an hour drive just seems stupid.
Should be interesting to see how they do the camping, now that they have lots more space they might be able to get a good amount of people into the camp areas.
Hopefully they get Daft Punk.

Schedule! They did a bang up job if I do say so myself. squamishfestival.com/p/scheduleAre any Americans coming for this? I really want to get a bunch of glowsticks (which are much cheaper to ship to the states) for Madeon and Basketball. I know they are at the same time, I would just run between stages like a crazy person since those 2 stages are about 30 seconds apart.
