Yeah, I went and googled it since it also got rid of my @ symbol which I figured I might actually need to type at some point unlike my response to the missing quotation marks... (same with the sexually , I'm sure.)

I forgot to add Atmosphere to my list of hopeful crossovers. There was rumours of this no?

My grandma and mom ask me if I've heard of this Squamish Music Festival and if I'm going. Apparently a few of their friends want to go. FUCK.
Squamish Fest ruined.

I can't see Pemberton happening, despite them having already sold a bunch of tickets. Not sure how they'll work that out.

What seems to be the hangup with Pemberton all of a sudden? Is it falling apart or something?

No one really knows. Some people who claim to know things say they are struggling to find acts. It really isn't that weird for a festival in July to not have a line-up (what the fuck , why did you just take that word away) yet. is 2 weeks before Pemberton and JUST released its s, and in the past there wasn't even a July. They might go ahead, but I'm expecting it to be much smaller than they initially hoped for, which is how you should start a festival anyway. You'd think they'd learn from the first one, throwing a 40K person festival from the start does not usually work well.

I won't be buying a Squamish ticket because of the insane prices, but am trying to win tickets because there are loads of radio stations in BC giving out weekend passes right now. But honestly, I am interested to see if Squamish can handle this festival. I read somewhere on their facebook page that they do not allow camp stoves at all, but there is an area which you can bring electrical appliances to cook.... I did not check the website any further, but to me this seems like a hard thing to control. And a lot of the attendees at Squamish are probably first-time festival goers.

There are going to be so many first timers at this thing and it is going to be such a fucking gong show if they get a large attendance.
I still have no idea how tickets will sell. The lineup seems to be made for 16 year olds, but 16 year olds don't generally have a lot of money.

Well, the presale has sold out already. Not really sure how many tickets that is and I wouldn't be surprised if most of them were bought up by scalpers, but as an early indicator of ticket sales, I'd say they might actually come close to or fully sell out. Last year the presale didn't sell out before the cut-off time as I remember getting my pass around 9pm that night.

Apparently every single hotel in Squamish is booked for the weekend as well. I'd say that's a pretty good indication that it is going to sell well. Also makes me wonder if bothsquatch will actually sell out just as fast as last year.

Squamish will definitely sell out, exactly for the reason you said davers: first-timers. People who would never even think of going to a music festival will go to this one because of Eminem and Bruno Mars, primarily. People who have never been are more willing to drop big money for an infrequent luxury. At least, based on what I've seen/heard.
For context: presale sold out in twenty minutes. I expect general sale to go in less.

Shit, was it really 20 minutes? Well, then I guess there was hardly any chance of me getting a ticket when I tried at 3pm...

They just posted on Facebook that Tier One (At $295+ fees) is almost sold out. Prices are then $325 for the remaining tickets. Sadly their strategy of massive headliners and a wasteland of an undercard is paying off.
RIP Squamish, you were a fun festival while you lasted.

Well tier one seems to be sold out so tickets are not a whooping $352 after fees. The $1000 VIP camping is also sold out.
It truly is amazing how headliners can sell tickets.
