1. Cut Copy - Zonoscope 2. Bon Iver - Bon Iver, Bon Iver 3. Adele - 21 4. The Strokes - Angles 5. Wiz Khalifa - Rolling Papers 6. Foster the People - Torches 7. Lady Gaga - Born This Way 8. MMJ - Circuital 9. Gil Scott Heron and Jamie XX - We're New Here 10. Beyonce - 4
I definitely think this has been a really weak year so far, especially when compared with last year. Aside from the top 4, it took me a while to compile the rest of my list.

Above is an abridged list of my top ten from 9Jan 11 to 9Jul 11, with the specific performance location listed if it was a single attendance, or [#] to denote the number of times I saw/heard their album(s) played live in the first half of 2011 and the specific performance that contributed to their inclusion on the list.

Something tells me that the new guy's daytimer has his poops scheduled in, along with which bathroom he took them in. Perhaps there are more details, but I don't want to think about them much more than that.
"Quit going to the bathroom in the Sasquatch Post Board!". Thanks new guy.

E This post confused me so much that I regrettably read over it 4 times. Then a series of questions formed: 1 - How do you know you like/are interested in a band enough to go see their show without listening to any recorded material first? I mean, sure, sometimes I'll check out a show of a band I've never heard of before but those are like $5 shows at a bar. 2 - How in the hell could anyone want to see Foster the People live 9 times? It's not like his shoulder-shrugging is gonna change that much. 3 - Why do you insist on sounding like such a douche by putting the exact location instead of just saying Coachella or Bonnaroo? And, yes, I know these are all questions, but please don't bother answering. M

I'll make a list like that! I can do that! Ten best sets of 2011 so far:
January 1st: Titus Andronicus @ 285 Kent (the show started on December 31st, but they went on at like 12:30 or 1) April 12th: The Mountain Goats @ Mr. Small's April 27th: The Joy Formidable @ Smiling Moose May 21st: The Antlers @ Bowery Ballroom June 9th: Childish Gambino @ Bonnaroo June 10th: The Decemberists @ Bonnaroo June 10th: NOFX @ Bonnaroo June 10th: My Morning Jacket @ Bonnaroo June 10th: Arcade Fire @ Bonnaroo June 12th: Explosions in the Sky @ Bonnaroo
You may be like, "well I thought you didn't like Bonnaroo." Overall, I didn't. But the music was not the problem with it.

I'm betting colour and consistency are in there to. Also, number of wipes required. A special note if the toilet clogs, so he can review what went wrong.

If he's punking us then he is just the most boring troll. Like, he totally enrages me but even so the best I can manage most days is a "fuck you, dude".
Even so, I wouldn't put it past this board to produce a gimmick troll from its established ranks who does little more than recite the contents of his wallet every night. The 'I don't listen to pre-recorded music' thing is like a great big banner that says 'COME AND GET ME GRAMMA'. Like, someone who knows me that's trying to get me riled up.
Real or fake, dude's just too fucking tragic for me to get into it with him (so you can stop now, Friendly D).

1. Decemberists - The King is Dead 2. Okkervil River - I Am Very Far 3. Gil Scott Heron & Jamie XX - We're New Here 4. Iron & Wine - Kiss Each Other Clean 5. Radiohead - King of Limbs 6. Bon Iver - Bon Iver 7. Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues 8. Alex Turner - Submarine OST (EP) 9. O'Death - Outside 10. James Blake - James Blake
I'm probably forgetting a lot, and most of this ordering was random. King is Dead is definitely my #1 so far.
Edit: will have to re-listen listen to Destroyer. Didn't really feel it first time around. Zonoscope should probably be on my list too. Will listen to Panda Bear, WU LYF, and Man Man soon.

I think from my original list MAYBE 3 will make the final cut. The second half of this year has been fantastic.
How's everyone else looking? I'm starting to get pretty excited about putting my list together. I have no idea why, but I do every year.

My first (Cut Copy) and second (Bon Iver) picks will be the same, but the rest of my list is going to be pretty different. Adele and Lady Gaga will definitely still be in my top 10, but I'm not sure about any of the others.
