My point is after seeing many people on bad trips and being told by more experienced people that it's not right for me, I do not feel prepared. But maybe one day I will, so don't set my horror in stone.

Anyone who is scared about doing acid, should not do acid.

Anyone who is scared about doing acid, should not do acid. Pretty much.

I wasn't scared until Pea said I should be because I trust things he says.

Pretty much exactly correct. I just assume he is accurate always.

Nah. Do it while you're young and still in a position to have your perspective of the universe and your existence changed for the better.

In my undergrad I remember reading a neat study done at Johns Hopkins on psilocybin that demonstrated that those individuals in the experimental group (that got the psilocybin) that had an out of body experience were less depressed six months later. Interesting stuff.

Word. I'm glad I participated in drug activity when I was young and malleable enough to appreciate it. My life is a 180 from where it was even just last month.

Interesting stuff. Acid saved me from religion and made me realize that it's OK that we're all so insignificant in the grand scheme of things. I used cry in bed as a little kid because I was so scared of what happens when I die, but I can honestly say that psychedelics put me at peace with every single one of those negative thoughts that were still in my head going into young adulthood. Positive drug stories FTW!

Personally, I think there is a good chance you could have come to the same conclusions without drugs, but I'm glad they had a positive impact on you

I'm not saying they're for everyone, but for me they absolutely freed my mind.

I have panic attacks when I'm sober. I'd imagine those would turn into something very unpleasant on high droogsz. I've always been interested though.

Being that I have more or less committed that my professional life will consist of me contributing to the scientific knowledge of or directly helping individuals have these kinds of life changes without the use of substances, I have to respectfully disagree - but I do acknowledge that without being a psychedelic drug user myself, I can never really know. I just have to have that bias for my life purpose to make sense.

The months following my grandmother's death were by far the most tumultuous of my life. My entire life fell apart and I honestly feel bad for everyone - including the people on this message board that had to be involved with me during that time. I honestly ruined valuable friendships and relationships with people I cared about a lot and self destructed beyond belief; the whole gambit.
I have never ever been a drug user. Maybe I would smoke weed, but honestly no more than like twice a year. I honestly feel like my decision to do drugs was the best thing I could have done. Every worry I had came into perspective and the times when I was sober following, the sense of well-being continued because I saw things differently in that moment. I can tell you, doing drugs once was more valuable and therapeutic than years - I mean years - of counseling for OCD and depression. I truly don't think I would have come to any of the life conclusions I did without experiencing the chemicals I did.
To each their own, amirite?
