not exactly accurate. they've camped people way out there like that since long before they ever incorporated taxis at bonnaroo.

but yes, Sasquatch is great - and i enjoy it infinitely more than Bonnaroo, myself - but as HG pointed it out earlier... Sasquatch is sponsored by XBOX, Esurance & Honda - as well as Red Bull and PlayStation. While the bands who play Sasquatch tend to fall more on the indie side of things than they do at Bonnaroo, Coachella or Lollapalooza - Sasquatch is still ran by Livenation. Thus every concession - whether its beer, food or even water - will be incredibly overpriced.

You're going to have the exact same things to bitch about after Sasquatch except you'll have driven halfway across the country for it. If Bonnaroo was too hot for you, Sasquatch will undoubtedly be too cold. At Sasquatch, the only way you can get around the long walk to the venue is to pay an additional one hundred and fifty dollars to have access to the "Premier" campground, and there are parts of the campground where the walk to the venue is plenty more than 1.5 miles. At Sasquatch, there is no re-entry into the venue -- which means you are more or less forced to buy their food, their beer (the most expensive beer on the planet -- damn corporations, why do you like making money so much!?) and their clothing, if you fail to bring enough warm layers like most people do.
Basically, you sound to me like one of those cats that isn't capable of having a good time ANYWHERE, so as long as you're going to go to a music festival and hate it you might as well stay closer to home and save yourself the money as well as the trouble of your girlfriend hating you for convincing her things would be different next time.

If you're pissed about a $5 1.5 mile taxi ride, you're going to lose your shit when you have to walk 3 mile back to your campsite and you don't have the option of a taxi.
If you're poor, don't go to a concert festival. (unless you've got sweet friends)
Bitching about a festival being too corporate, but driving across the country burning fuel purchased at incredibly inflated prices from corporations is only a little bit ridiculous
Modest Mouse is signed to a label. That label is there to make money.
Go to Burning Man, but don't expect things like taxis, Modest Mouse, or any fucking pity from us if you're out-hippy'd by the hippies.

the fact that the taxi's where there was not a bad thing, i enjoyed them, and the drivers for the most part where cool as shit. this is my problem, we camped about 1.5 miles from centeroo, there was a open campsite that they closed down right next to centeroo and opened up ours way the fuck out there. i think they did this to cause us to have to pay the taxi and walk by all the extra venders. shit like that annoys me. the music was great. but i dont want to talk about roo, I want to hear you guys tell me how chill and awesome sasquatch is so i can sell my girl on dropping a few thousand next year to road trip it. i am pretty sure we will, unless modest mouse is playing somewhere else, i'm kind of on a mission to see them. Alright HigherPrimate, since you are unaware that this message board has many, many, many threads that deal with this subject, I will enlighten your barely-better-than-bonobo-brain. Enjoy the read; you and your friend have 11 months to get through them and decide. sasquatchfest.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1520sasquatchfest.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1546sasquatchfest.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1263sasquatchfest.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1008sasquatchfest.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=939sasquatchfest.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1028sasquatchfest.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=805sasquatchfest.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=809sasquatchfest.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=144P.S. If his reading comprehension skills are anything like his spelling and grammar there's a good chance he won't be reading through any of those threads anyway. That was nice of you but I feel like you might have just wasted eight minutes.

I would gladly pay 5 dollars for a ride back to the campground every single night of every future Sasquatch I attend.
Shit, I would probably pay upwards of 15.

is this guy an example of what the attitude at sasquatch is like, or is he just a lone douche?

Man I like the walk back, I'm not exactly sure why, but I enjoy bullshitting with the other ridiculously drunk zombies on the 1.5-4 mile trek back to camping.

Have you not noticed, like, everyone else here telling you to get over yourself and stop fucking whining? Clearly you're one of those people who is going to find something to complain about regardless of where you are. What, exactly, are you waiting for us to say to you? Is Sasquatch awesome? Yes, it is fucking awesome. Will Modest Mouse headline two years in a row? Absolutely fucking not, they aren't even headliner caliber to begin with, the only reason they headlined a night this year is because of a scheduling kerfuffle with the Archaic Flyers. Is there room for any more pseudo-intellectual malcontents from the backwards anus of our country? Yeah, they let people from Arkansas in. Is there anything else we can help you with?

The walk back did honestly not feel like a mile and a half. Right now, I feel like I'd rather walk then pay for a ride, but I don't think I'd say the same thing on a really cold night when I'm exhausted.

I didn't notice that walk until last day on the last walk back. But, honestly, that day I did the most walking through the venue and walked up and down the hill like... 20 times, so it seems like the last walk wasn't so bad.

As a general rule of thumb, if you join an online community and act like it didn't exist before you started your thread, you deserve any negativity you receive. and fwiw, money is not a problem at all. i just do not like the feeling of being price gouged, he is another example, i saw somewhere on here that ice at sasquatch is 3$, its 10$ at bonnaroo. Also traditionally the dollar sign goes before the number.
Like this: $10

Maybe he's french, they do it the other way.
Seriously man, they will make money off of you. Its how the world works. You can go to sasquatch and not really buy anything if you want. Being your lunch in, bring a shit ton of ice ( I think its 5 bucks at sasquatch) and avoid the oh so tempting $6 pizza on the walk back from the festival every night and, ta da, you hardly spend anything. Just know that if you want to buy pretty much anything, they will charge you out the ass for it because they are the only game in town.
With the exception of burning man which is more or less currency free from what I understand (you trade things) you will pay inflated prices for shit at music festivals. End of story.
