Yeah, wamu raves are just to much. Unless they book someone truly amazing once in a life time electronic act I probably won't be back.

Lucky is going to be a blast! USC massives are a shitshow but you can't deny that they are a good time. More Paradiso information should be released pretty soon too, I have my fingers crossed for Bassnectar headlining a night.

BTW if you want a permanent smile on your face, listen to this unreleased Michal Menert+PL collaboration.

BTW if you want a permanent smile on your face, listen to this unreleased Michal Menert+PL collaboration. That's a pretty chill track. I have to wonder why a track called Summer Love has a wintery picture in as a background though. It's like they miss summer I guess?

That PL song/video is great. I can't wait for the new album, even though that apparently won't be on it.

Andrew Bayer - If It Were You, We'd Never Leave is released next month. The tracks I've hear so far are pretty good.

It looks like the initial lineup of Paradiso is out. Looks like a decent start.
Day 1: Krewella, Tommy Trash, Morgan Page, Zed’s Dead, Porter Robinson, Bassnectar, Tiesto
Day 2: Alesso, Knife Party, Cazzette, Chuckie, Markus Schultz, Nervo, Gareth Emery, Adventure Club, Kaskade.
Edit: Markus on the main stage at the Gorge would be epic. Markus at sunset, holy shit.

I'm pretty sure that was your exact response to the initial lineup last year. Did it not turn out to be a good experience? Seeing Bassnectar and Markus rock the main stage at the Gorge each day is probably worth the price I paid for presale tickets. I would pay to see Porter Robinson, Knife Party, Nervo, Gareth Emery, and Kaskade again. The only 2 I haven't seen that I might go out of my way for is Alesso and Morgan Page. More Alesso than Morgan Page, but I have heard good thing about both of them. That is probably only a quater of the full lineup, if that. They definitely need to mix it up a little better. Pretty dominent ratio of Pop House and Derp Step like last year. Edit: I'm not sure how I feel about Cazzette yet. They seem a little over-rated.

Nah, I have no plans on attending with that lineup so far. Sure there are some artists I like in there, but all of which I've seen before, and Tiesto and Kaskade aren't really what I was hoping for in headliners.

The Paradiso lineup makes me incredibly grateful that What The Festival started last year. It was a fantastic alternative to those big housey names that I can't get in to. Did anybody else from here go to that?

Did anybody else from here go to that? Actually, what they mostly offer is the big housey names. I think it is a great festival. I just hope they mix it up a little more. They did a great job with Lucky, hopefully they do the same with Paradiso. Kaskade definitely plays some cheese, but he is a great DJ. He's good at remixing, mash-ups, and coming up with new material so his sets are always fresh. Tiesto is Tiesto. I saw some of those other DJs on the UMF Stream. Porter Robinson always seems to kill it. Same with Knife Party.

Edit: Listening to this gets me stoked to see Kaskade at the Gorge. I heard he blew the Gorge away at Identity.

What I meant was that I don't especially like all the big housey names, and What The Fest was a great alternative to Paradiso because of that. I saw Kaskade at the Gorge for Identity Fest a few years ago and I loved it, but he's one of the few I'd actually want to see on the Paradiso lineup so far.
What The Festival was the best festival I've ever been to, including my 4 Sasquatches. It's only 90 minutes east of Portland so it was a really easy drive. The venue was incredible and everything about it was great. There was a 2 foot deep splash pool (being fed by a nearby river so it didn't get gross) in front of a DJ booth that the performers were free to drop by and play sets at. There was a huge slip and slide down an entire hillside. The security only searched your bags for glass, everything else was fair game to bring anywhere with absolutely no worries about getting in trouble for anything. As much as I love Sasquatch and the Gorge, WTF was so much more chill and laid back and easy. Highly recommended this year. The lineup is going to be partially announced on April 4th, or something during that week if I remembered the date wrong.

I heard he blew the Gorge away at Identity. Yeah I mentioned it in my post above, but he really did blow my mind. I am not a huge fan of his albums, but the set he played that night was so so good. And to be followed by Pretty Lights immediately afterward? That was a great night. I was so sad they didn't come back to the Gorge during their second year.

Sorry, I didn't get that you were talking about WTF. I really wanted to check that out, but bailed on the idea the last minute. Mostly because I didn't know anybody else who wanted to go, and it's quite a ways from here. It's on the same weekend as Phish at the Gorge this year, so that will effect my decision if I am traveling to a show.
Edit: Did they say WTF would be at the same location this year? I didn't think that info was released yet.
