So Pea, inquring minds want to know... Does she think you're not romantic, and do you think she's too dramatic? I'm sure they work on it night by night PS. Just heard bassnectars new single "upside down" off of his new album divergent spectrum. Shit is bangin. I've only heard it on my cell phone though and I have to wait till late tonight to listen to it with some quality. Daftmau5 excited

So, how about IDM? Any of you guys fans? As most of you know, my background in music consists of the more extreme sub-genres of metal, and I often frequented related forums during those days. This was when "Sandstorm" was the only electronic song I could name and I thought Aqua was considered techno. From time to time, however, discussions would pop up regarding all sorts of different types of experimental and avant-garde music. The one that stuck out most to me more than any other was Venetian Snares. For some reason, I didn't even think of it as electronic music, but looking back, I suppose he was my first real introduction to the overall genre. I remember hearing the album Doll Doll Doll for the first time and feeling like my head just slid off my shoulders. Then when Rossz Csillag Alatt Szletett was released it was like a total game changer for me. I used to be a HUGE fan of the Dillinger Escape Plan and I couldn't help but be reminded of the spastic and time changing madness that took place in their music. I haven't listened to his stuff much recently but I'm revisiting some of it tonight and falling back in love again.

Idm is like the jazz of EDM to me. Sometimes it's really nice and brilliant. Other times it's just a bunch of noise. Teflon Tel Aviv would be one of the IDM groups I really enjoy.

Depends on how broadly you define IDM, I guess. I enjoy artists like Aphex Twin, The Orb, Future Sound of London, and Boards of Canada. Although I enjoy the more ambient-ish Aphex Twin stuff (older, like late 80s) than his other stuff.

I'd rather let you explain it to me than wade through nine pages of Urban Dictionary, to be perfectly honest. I already had to look up 'randies' today.

I didn't really like it at all I even plugged in my Bose to get some good bass and it just sounded like such a run of the mill offering from him. I'm still looking forward to the album though! Yeah after further listening I would say the song is pretty average. However did you listen to the 4 other song samples on his website he just released? www.bassnectar.net/2011/06/upside-down-drops/I remember a few of those from sasquatch, so stoked! Especially the Rollz and Gogol Bordello songs. AHHHH
