Alright then! Disregard my previous statement.

And, the Roseland is the largest venue in the Portland area for EDM acts before you hit arenas (minus outdoor venues)

I can see why you enjoyed WAMU so much then. Man you guys need a mid-sized venue down there.

Its hard to say where Justice will be. I usually go a step higher than the last time a band played and they headlined the Sahara in 08, however, their new album is quite terrible, so I don't know.

They are the same capacity, 1,500 each. Don't think I would all of the sudden forget about a venue I've been to 50 times.

With that being said, I'm still going to their show at the Paramount. I love cross so much that it overrides my dislike for audio, video, disco.

I think they're in between the Sahara and main stage, but a collab with the Creators Project could be the thing to push them onto the main.

I liked the new album. It was like electro Queen with far less talent.

Oh geez why am I doing this.. I liked the new album. It was like electro Queen with far less talent. I actually have a feeling I might really like this album. The reviews seem to be in agreence that they don't like how it is essentially a prog-rock electro album. That sounds like it might be very enjoyable for me. I'm finally getting my computer back this week and plan on finding a stream and cranking that mah fah one night. I'm still confused to why Cross is such a big deal to people. I have a hard time finding anything unique or interesting to the point of justifying all the praise it gets.

I completely agree with you in regards to Cross. It's a fine album, but the universal praise dumbfounds me every time I listen to it.
The new album is just fun, catchy, sprawling music. Nothing fancy, just enjoyable.

I really enjoy both albums. People hold Cross in such high regard that they really had no shot, especially after waiting like 4 years between album.
Helix is a great fuckin jam on the new album.

Couldn't let this one slip by unappreciated. I just got my presale codes in the mail and realized what the dates could possibly mean for Coachella, but of course this news was already broken on here yesterday. I love their first album, but agree that it was definitely over-amped by most. I also really like their second album and think that its poor reception is due to it being such a departure from what their first sounded like and what people expected. Much like MGMT's first vs. second albums. Cross was loaded with dance hits and AVD seems a little thin in that respect. I saw them tour for Cross and they absolutely melted faces. No matter what you feel about AVD, if you like anything they've done at all I'm sure this will be a tour not to miss. Even if you're in Van and have to put up with the god awful PNE Forum. I haven't been there for a few years, though. Has anyone been more recently? The sound used to be horrendous and with the acoustics of that building I have a hard time believing it has improved much.

Exactly. I'm not doggin' on Cross or anything, if you're on the dance floor and it comes on or if they were doing a show I would be dancing like a villain fo' sho'. But I don't think I would be more or less excited if it was just another electro DJ/group that was being played instead.
I don't see what set Cross apart so vastly in the critics eyes from Chromeo, Simian Mobile Disco, Vitalic, Deadmau5, Bodyrox, ect...
