Does SHM have the same name recognition of Deadmau5? I'm really asking because I don't know.

Does SHM have the same name recognition of Deadmau5? I'm really asking because I don't know. As someone who is no expert in EDM, but pays enough attention to know who is who, my opinion is that no one has the name recognition of Deadmau5. He's got the funny name, the helment, the pretty light show(s), and he's played at most of the major US festivals including a headlining slot at Lollapalooza. Everyone knows him, even those who don't follow EDM. SHM is still a large name in the industry, but you have to pay a bit of attention to know it's Axwell, Steve Angello, and that other dude. They are a bigger deal for the true EDM fans who can name 40 DJs off the top of their head, but I doubt the little kids like them as much as the mouse guy. And since I don't know, are SHM even known for having a neat light show, or an above average one at that?

That was sort of my impression. I think that sounds like a perfect Sahara headliner.

Taking this from something I read on the Coachella board, but apparently Steve Angello and Axwell each headlined a night at the Sahara last year. Back to my own opinion, despite that fact, I think SHM is big enough to play the main stage after a headliner, and too big for the Sahara, which was mostly jammed packed the entire weekend anyway. I'm all about the idea of putting the elders to bed and lettting the kids play late. I hope Sasquatch will incorporate that this year.

I was doing a bit of reminiscing earlier this morning about Coachella, and was looking for a specific post in last year's thread, then ended up reading about the last 30 pages having been morphed into March of this year. So a couple highlights and thoughts; ha ha, I was definitely sober when I met you, I just don't really remember exactly when it was that I pooped into you. The whole weekend is kind of blending together at this point. On the drive back, I passed the same car on the highway four times over two days. It happened. I know I can exaggerate occasionally, but I had forgotten about this, and I'm not saying, "I passed a red Honda Civic four times." I mean, I really passed the same exact car four times on my drive back to Portland. It was an orange mustang driven by a couple in their sixties, and they were traveling about 15 miles per hour slower than everyone else. The first day, Indio to San Jose, I had to gas up right after I passed them, so once I got back on the highway, I passed them again. It's hard to forget a classic car traveling incredibly slow, so when I passed them for a third time the next day, I recognized them. It was pretty funny when I realized five minutes later I was nearly out of gas and had to pull over. So yes, the fourth pass happened shortly after. How weird is that? This: Souly is from the Future. And This: Read within the proper context, these were both laugh out loud lines. Friendly just popping in the thread randomly. I'm glad he has nearly 3,000 posts, dude is pretty hilarious. Also, Shax I believe was brand new to the board when he started posting in that thread, now he's pretty much a regular around here, albeit one who doesn't post that frequently. Last but not least, awww. I met knowidyuh early on Saturday and we spent a few hours together melting away in the desert sun. We ran into each other a few other times throughout the weekend and caught some other acts together. Since I was staying in a nearby hotel, he was nice enough to invite me into his campsite a couple nights to wind down after the festival. Saturday night I absolutely needed a safe place to sit and come back to planet Earth, so I’m particularly grateful for his hospitality and free beer that night. Know, you're seriously one of the nicest and most easy-going people I've met in a while. I genuinely enjoyed getting to know the "IRL" you. It's kind of funny how most of my friends know I went to Coachella solo, so whenever it comes up, and I mention, "my friend" I was hanging out with there, they make it sound I'm lying to them about something. Pea and I were the most vocal on the board about attending, and basically had a 30 page conversation about it leading up to the festival, so it was pretty obvious we would meet up. Now I feel like I see him more than my other friends, having hung out three times since (one being Sasquatch). He's now a go to drunk texter, which has saved me from drunk texting those who I shouldn't be drunk texting. Cool dude that Pea.

I'm just glad all of our meet ups have been preplanned, instead of how you and wompwomp randomly pooped into each other.

It was pretty funny how he introduced himself by his first name, and when I had no clue who he was he had to resort to "I'm wompwomp!"

/\ I was so confused when I met you guys and everyone was using their real name.
Also, that Spokane Deadmau5 was false. Some D bag thought it would be funny to make a fake event page.

So the Lollapalooza Brazil lineup was released this morning, it's happening the week before the first Coachella in Sao Palo.
Lot of bands listed that I thought could be playing Coachella: Foo Fighters, Skrillex, Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, Foster the People, TV on the Radio,MGMT, Band of Horses, Cage the Elephant, Calvin Harris...
So what do you think? Helps/hurts/has no effect on whether these bands will be at Coachella? Personally I think this points to a higher possibility of a lot of them being there.

Looks like there was quite a bit of overlap with Lolla Chile 2011 and Coachella 2011, Lolla Chile being two weeks before Coachella.
Bands playing Lolla Chile this year: Bjork, Artic Monkeys, Theivery Corp....plus pretty much everyone I listed that is playing Lolla Brazil.
I wouldn't be surpised to see most of those names on the Coachella lineup.

To be perfectly honest, I have absolutely no opinion of Pretty Lights. I've sampled a couple of his albums but never really gave them a real shot to grow on me.

A poster on the Coachella boards who DJs for The End radio station said to expect a tour announcement next Monday that should pretty much confirm one of the big rumors for Coachella.
