Dude can scream. I'll give him that. But that music is utterly mindless and just fucking boring. I WAS watching from the hill, but that's because it took all of thirty seconds to decide that they weren't worth expending any amount of energy for. i can agree. people swore to me that it was the must-see of the event, yet when I saw it, I was utterly disappoint.

Best coast was kind of a downer for me. She just seemed rather boring on stage. Also, Das Racist were kind of funny, but I felt like they were waaaay fucked up. Re-listening to their set on NPR confirms it. She just kind of seemed like a bitch, no? It seemed like she thought they were way too cool to be there. I super dig their album but when someone is condescending me for liking them it just turns me off.

Just popped in to say a few things.
1. Reiterating how happy it makes me that so many people enjoyed the Thermals. Thermals ist Rock and Roll. Rock and Roll ist Thermals. 2. Bethany (Best Coast) wouldn't be playing festivals like Sasquatch if it weren't for her semi-bitchy, semi-bored personality. It's her gimmick, just like her bf Wavves (yet I still have a cruch on Bethany and still love Wavves songs, and I fucking hate myself for it). 3. Nobody can be such a badass and make child-kickin' look so good as Stamper. Seriously though, Stamper has the courage I wish I had.

i can't believe people actually chose to watch Best Coast over Surfer Blood and !!! - both of those other shows were fantastic. it kinda saddened me just how bare those two shows were. so many people missed out on those really great performances!

I saw Surfer Blood, but it started raining hard and we went to best coast.

I really like Surfer Blood, but for some reason they bored me that day and I only stayed for like 10 minutes. Rod y Gab was fun in the rain anyways.

I thought surfer blood got better as they went on but for the first few songs the lead singer really sounded bad.

Rod y Gab was fun in the rain anyways. i guess i get that. but still - for me, Rodrigo y Gabriela are only enjoyable for about 10 - 13 minutes. after that i'm like... 'alright, this was fun but the rest of the show is going to be JUST LIKE THIS... what's next?'

Play Floating Vibes again!'

it sincerely amazes me that Biffy Clyro's set wasn't the worst I saw over the weekend.
Here are 9 shows I enjoyed even less than the Biffy the Shirtless Vampire Slayer set... 1. Cold War Kids - wow. they really suck now. like really. it's kinda sad. 2. Death Cab For Cutie - the song selection wasn't bad... it's just that they didn't seem to have any life in them at all 3. DFA - I just don't get them. Not at all. It's pure mindless noise. (Sorry to Shaxspear and Geno) 4. Bright Eyes - dude, what was up with his 8 Mile hoodie? Does Conor not realize he has no balls? He really needs to start performing in Gap khakis. 5. Beach House - I actually fell asleep out of boredom 6. Jenny & Johnny - Jenny may be super cute but their music is super lame 7. Flaming Lips - less stories and more music please 8. Hari Kondabolu(?) - he's really, really unfunny - which sucks - cuz he's a comedian.... allegedly. 9. The Bronx - nothing remotely memorable about them to say. I just know that I disliked them.

...and Biffy Clyro was FUCKIN DOPE!!! Honestly, I can't even tell if my enjoyment of The Biff was ironic or not. Which means it probably wasn't ironic.
