I took a short 15 minute coma during The Wilcos and then peace'd the fuck out of there.

I skipped Wilco completely because my body just plain said no. Not hating on Wilco, but rather my body's betrayal.

I left before Wilco because I thought God was going to smite me with that lightning.

I feel so bad aboot Wilco. I've been casually listening to them for so long and was pretty excited to see them, but then I took my first couple of tokes in about a year right before Best Coast (who I really did not like pretty much pure personality wise). I proceeded to have the best time during the Decemberists, eat a funnel cake and then fall asleep for Wilco. This is why I don't smoke pot anymore. Also why growing up on the island that has the best bud in B.C. is not always cool.

Foo Fighters were fucking great! But you know who did suck? The asshole parents who had a problem with Cat and I sitting behind them during their set. No lie, this small group of douchebags were all up in a roar cuz we found a small piece of real estate behind them on one of those pieces of rock just above the pit - ya know what i'm talking about? - they were on the grass and we were sitting on the rock wall like 6 feet behind and 5 feet above them. (for the record, they had a couple giant blankets laid out - and well more than enough room to accommodate their retarded group) they were like, 'don't sit there. we've been here since 4:30! we may want to lean back and sit up there later.' i was like, 'dude. you don't own this entire quarry. we're not even in your way. chill out.' and some other fuckstick was like, 'you should probably leave. he's bigger than you.' and i was like, 'i don't give a fuck how big he is. all i'm doing is sitting on a rock. you need to calm the fuck down.' and these two geriatrics got involved, 'you're being really annoying right now.' and i was like, 'me? i'm not doing anything but trying to mind my own business? who the fuck are you? shut up. this has nothing to do with you.' They quickly shut up. once the small group realized we weren't going anywhere, they changed their tone. 'we just don't want you kicking our kids in the back of the head with your legs.' (they had like 2 tween girls who really didn't even give a shit that Foo Fighters were even about to play) to which i replied, 'seriously? you think i'm going to kick a child? in the back of the head? who does that? how bout you turn around and watch the show. you won't even notice we're here. It's totally cool. I promise not to kick your kids.' it was around that time Cat and the mother got into a heated discussion about parenting skills. The woman had been smoking and exhaling all over her kids, yet she was all concerned about Cat and I interfering with their children. Cat quickly put that bitch in check. Don't fuck with a redhead, folks. they's feisty! They pretty much left us alone after that. What fucking fuckheads. Man, I wish we'd spent more time with you guys. I would pay money to see this interaction. (but only if you kick the children)

I got so freaking bored during Wilco, and I really like Wilco. I loved the decemberists set, but I could not handle Wilco. Then I was super bummed when we got to Major Lazer's set like 10 min before it ended. Poor planing on my part.

Ratatat was cool to watch, but way to mellow for the type of crowd that was there....they should have moved MSTRKRFT or Skrillex to Bigfoot and Ratatat to the Banana Shack. THIS. So much of this.

I honestly can say that I was unimpressed by a lot more bands then I was impressed with so its a lot easier to be a lover because my love was spread for so few. I went to Death Cab for moral support (because I love my friends too much) when I obviously would have rather been at Sleigh Bells (or anywhere else) and I literally asked Coley like 3 times, "Haven't they already played this song?" I'm impressed at how good they sound but FUCK. Can anyone say monotonous? Ben Droning Douchebag Gibbard.

I was incredibly stoked for Washed Out, stoked enough to skip out on Iron & Wine for them. I blame the poor sound and them being booked in the dance tent for their boring set. Luckily I completely forgot about how mediocre Washed Out was when the Glitch Mob completely tore up the banana shack afterward. I don't get the Death Cab hate, they performed a fantastic set. I wish I had worn the proper attire though. Flip flops, shirt, and shorts in 40 degree weather made focusing on their music a bit difficult. Should have stayed in the tent for Sleigh Bells... Biggest disappointment of the weekend: Bassnectar It was my fifth time seeing Lorin perform and also the most underwhelming. The glowruption was glow-tacular, but the music wasn't. I know he had sound issues that probably weren't his fault but his music wasn't loud enough. Couldn't even feel the bass... His set at outside lands last year was booked at 2 pm, had a 15 minute power-outage, and was still leagues better than his sasquatch performance.

can't wait to see him at a good performance... If that was the first time you saw him, then yes, you should be very excited to see a GOOD Bassnectar performance.

And Romanticizer, I absolutely was 100% disappointed by Death Cab. I mentioned earlier that I was ready to give them a chance and they blew it in my book.

I actually had a pretty sweet time at Death Cab. I think it was a combination of no expectations, running away for Sleigh Bells for 20 minutes and cheap vodka. I always forget that I like those guys until I'm listening to them. What Sarah Said killed me, but it always does.

Best coast was kind of a downer for me. She just seemed rather boring on stage. Also, Das Racist were kind of funny, but I felt like they were waaaay fucked up. Re-listening to their set on NPR confirms it.
