Dancing is not a crime. What we're seeing here is the aftermath of whatever interaction led security to hold her that way in the first place. Showing us this footage without the rest is giving us an incomplete story. And while I appreciate that you're looking for documentation, you've also labeled that video on YouTube with some inflammatory language, so just be up front with us here. I hope you get some footage of what happened before your friend was held there. If you are included in the VAST MAJORITY of people who did not personally have or witness injustice or a negative experience with any security at Sasquatch, then that is WONDERFUL and the way it should be. Just be aware that YOUR experience is YOUR experience, and sadly that it was not that of EVERY SINGLE OTHER ATTENDEE. I'm sure there were many who were justly kicked out or arrested for violence, drugs, etc. This is a part of what security is there for and I'm assuming most of them performed their duties responsibly while dealing with the public respectfully and with reasonable sense of mind. Unfortunately there ARE the handful of situations like this which get triggered by ego challenges and exceed appropriate response. I can only assume that had this been you, any of you, that you wouldn't feel a bigger deal is being made of this than necessary. We're not saying "DOWN WITH SECURITY!", we're saying THIS specific situation crossed the line into abuse and that knowing this level of aggression is considered unacceptable for non-violent situations is vital to us patrons having trust and faith in those who are designated with the responsibility of keeping 'the peace' and the festival a safe environment. Do you type every 15th word in capital letters in real life too? If you do, I'll bet your coworkers make fun of you for it behind your back.

I only know one thing for sure: whenever someone tries the "O! Poor, innocent me!" bit, it is a sure fucking thing that there is a part of the story they are conveniently forgetting to tell.
Anyway, still trying to figure out what it is exactly that you want us to do about it.

Got it. If you saw this incident raise your hand! No one? Okay. /thread Actually, there ARE two responses on here from people (wicked curves and thelilluha) not associated with us who saw this incident. Even though these accounts are not in video form, they still provide helpful information from additional witnesses we might not have otherwise known how to contact.

It is the opinion of this court that those are both additional accounts created by you.
To which you'll say, "Nuh uh!"
To which I say, Yeah, well... You go ahead and submit those posts at your friend's hearing. There is literally nothing that anyone here can do that is going to make you feel like justice has been served. Your friend got uppity with security and she got taken down for it. Whether or not it was justified, hopefully "Don't agitate venue security when they're looking for the handful of troublemakers in a crowd of 20,000 people" is a lesson learned.

Also, as I've said elsewhere: getting taken to the ground or having your arm twisted behind your back will never be seen as excessive force in a court- these are standard operating procedures for basically all security and law enforcement personnel, and things like armlocks are used because they are a very effective method of controlling people without actually causing lasting damage.

“Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely.”
When I see or experience abuse of power, I report it. That's all I did. I also reported my feelings about it.
If no one else documented it on this site, that doesn't mean no one else saw it, maybe they forum other places(?).

PS I don't know these people. I just saw it and I was shocked enough to try and document it.

Also for the love of Pizza Christ don't put shit in quotation marks when you are making only the laziest attempt at actually quoting something. One and a half seconds' worth of googling the words "power corrupts" will show you that the quote you are butchering didn't have any such wishy-washy words in it as "tends to".

Lesson learned: flip/mouth off a security guard and you have a chance of getting taken down. Next year try to be more respectful and you will go the weekend without incident.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." Amendment 1, The U.S. Constitution thelilluh Also, I found this information helpful. I personally know a lot of the Security Guards/Beverage Enforcement that they send over to the Gorge. Well, the ones from Spokane, at least. They're constantly doing things that are an obvious abuse of "power", if that's what you wanna call it. For example, when they patrol the campgrounds at night, they'll steal the stuff right off of your tables, wake you up from a drunken stupor to confenscate your drugs/other goodies. The same people that are supposed to keep your stuff safe! They're all crackheads. Anyway, back to the point. The above video doesn't shock me one bit, knowing those douchebags. That sucks that this happened to you.
