I will take my King Khan any way I can get him. Loving these rumors thus far. I suspect they've got a fantastic lineup up their sleeves this year.

[ Kings of Leon, The Decemberists, Peter Bjorn and John, Monotonix, Animal Collective, Neko Case, Passion Pit, The Avett Brothers, Sun Kil Moon, John Vanderslice and Grizzly Bear.Pretty weak thus far, outside of PBJ. Haha, really I think Peanut Butter Jelly is the worst band in that group, I would rather watch all of those bands Twice & Sober, before ever watching PBJ, even if it was at a free show while while receiving oral from the olsen twins. The only one I can't vouch for in the group is the Avett Brothers, but aside from that it's the announced bands that are keeping me excited through all the speculation surrounding other horrible bands. In other words I agree with the latter poster and not the former.

My bad, I tend to only like good music And the Olsen Twins, I think we're 15 minutes away from people predicting Dashboard Confessionals and Jonas Brothers.

Your generalizing, both hyperbolic and defensive, is also incongruous with the bands we're talking about. But maybe if you make the comment again, in an even vaguer and more indignant way (I've also seen your 'I'm not even going this year because I paid so much for last years' tickets!' post, which makes me wonder what exactly your mission is here), I'll understand what you're saying. You're certainly not going to convince those of us who like these bands that they're not good bands.

Everyone has their own taste I suppose. I for one am absolutely loving those rumoured/confirmed bands (all except Neko Case).
I'm also very pleased with the comedy/dance tent decision. Very well done. Hope it's a bigger tent than last year though. I'll be very surprised if Girl Talk and Flosstradamus aren't there. Perhaps Steve Aoki, Drop The Lime, Felix Cartal, LA Riots as some other possibilities. Also remember reading that DJ Z-Trip, Adam Freeland, and Dave Seamen will all be touring around Sasquatch, so those are some other names to look for.
Oh and The Walkmen are opening for KOL so they will likely be there as well! The Walkmen put on one of the greatest live shows I've ever seen. You & Me was undoubtedly one of the finest albums of 2008.

As far as a "mission" goes, why would I not be able to discuss Sasquatch, seeing as I've gone the past 2 years? I've had plenty of people disagree with my band selections in the past year here but I never got bent out of shape over it. sheeshhhhhhhh sssssssssss And for the record, my not going this year has absolutely nothing to do with ticket prices (no sure how the hell you came to that conclusion). $1000, $1500, VIP is a treat worth paying with the right bands and food. But I'm filming a documentary on the Appalachian Trail beginning in April which would make a trip to Washington State somewhat difficult. Now if Radiohead is headliner, I might make a concession. Saw them twice last year and they were grand.

311 dates are showing up, beginning on the East Coast in late April and heading west. They're playing Austin on 5/12.

I went to Sas in 2008 and 2007 and can definitely say having the wrong bands play can bring out the less than desirables. I've always thought of Sasquatch as being about peace and love and a friendly enviroment and bands like Fleet Foxes and Polyphonic Spree mirror that. I wouldn't want to share the area with a bunch of twats rockin' out to Guns N Roses. That said, I thought the line-up last year wasn't remotely as good as 2007 and considering how much I spent for the VIP tickets, I'm taking a pass on 2009.

I should have added that. I stand by everything else, twats, GNR, and all ssssssssssss.

My point is you're criticizing a festival you're not even attending, which seems bizarre to me.
Different people entertain themselves in different ways though. I'm not entertained by this back and forth banter. Please go on.

I'm not entertained by this back and forth banter. Please go on. I have a vested interest considering I (A, have gone twice) (B, will attend next year) and (C, will go this year if my favourite band is headlining). The success of this year's show directly affects my ability to go in the future. I don't know why you're being so thick about it all. For someone not entertained in the back and forth, you're quoting an awful lot of loyalfromlondon posts.

Makes sense, I could see them closing the dance tent

I'd add Deerhoof and Cornelius to the discussion. They just added tour dates................
5-08 Mexico City, Mexico - Lunario 05-09 Guadalajara, Mexico - Festival De Mayo 05-12 San Francisco, California - The Fillmore 05-13 Santa Cruz, California - Rio Theater 05-14 Los Angeles, California - Mayan Theater 05-16 Pomona, California - The Glasshouse

I really hope the tent is more open this year and doesn't have a limited capacity. Lining up to get to see an act when you're already in the festival venue is stupid.
