Sasquatch is all about the undercard and discovering new music. BUT it certainly helps if you have great headliners too.
Fleet Foxes, whom I love, were kinda ass last year (played the same songs for both sets), hopefully they bring some excitement. It was like hearing the Total Experience Gospel Choir in 2007 except not as moving.

I agree with you ccoult. To be quite honest I'm usually toast by the time the headliner hit the stage anyways. There are a ton of bands that I just didn't see comin' [EITS, Doves, Silversun Pickups, to name a few]. Over all, a pretty stacked lineup.

i think the lineup is pretty good too. i was really hoping for band of horses though. we were debating between bonnaroo and sasquatch this year. been to roo twice and was kinda disappointed in last year's lineup. but bonnaroo has taught me how to not care about headliners, since i'm not usually interested. so sasquatch's hl's look pretty good in comparison to two nights of phish.

i'm sad to see no beirut, no band of horses and no MGMT. i'm hoping that they're holding back the actual saturday headliner because KOL aren't headliner material to me. if they do infact headline, i'll either go to the dance tent or back to the campground early.
does that seem like an incomplete lineup to anyone else? it only seems like enough bands for 2 stages. maybe they're giving each band more time this year or they're condensing to 2 stages instead of 3.

Looks like on the preliminary website, there will still be all 3 stages. Probably a number of bands still to be added/announced though.

Monday looks pretty underwhelming in the scope of things, unless there's additions.

I know people are underwhelmed. While I still expected a bigger headliner or two I'm pretty stoked with the variety. Kings of Leon (hopefully plays older stuff), Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Decemberists (new stuff is pretty good), Bon Iver, M. Ward, Ra Ra Riot, Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band, Nine Inch Nails (always great live), Jane's Addiction (worth a shot), TV On the Radio, Peter, Bjorn and John, The Walkmen, The Dodos, The Submarines, Ben Harper and Relentless7 (the new stuff is wicked but I like jam bands), Erykah Badu (interesting add), Silversun Pickups, Fleet Foxes (amazing live), Gogol Bordello (amazing energy live), Santigold, Blitzen Trapper, Zach Galfinakas, Todd Barry and Demitri Martin!! Tons of variety, plus the opportunity to catch new artists. That's what Sasquatch is about more than anything. I'm still surprised that Pearl Jam has yet to headline a Sasquatch but it'll come some year. In the mean time I'm still hoping the Tragically Hip, Tenacious D and/or maybe Ryan Adams get added. That's just a bit of wishful thinking on my part but I like the line-up quite a bit. No REM or Beck level group but exciting nevertheless.

I'm so loving this lineup. Sure, the headliners suck, but that's almost a plus in my book. You get back to the campground at 9:30 instead of 12:30. But Animal Collective, TVOTR, Grizzly Bear, Walkmen, Bon Iver, Blitzen Trapper, Calexico, and the WRENS!?!? That's the stuff of dreams for this lad.

The headliners are meh, but the rest of the line-up is great. So many bands that have put out amazing albums in the past few years; TV On The Radio, Animal Collective, Bon Iver, Passion Pit, Of Montreal, M83, Fleet Foxes, Girl Talk, Beach House, and Grizzly Bear (who have a new album out right after Sasquatch!). You also have to factor in the rumor that Nine Inch Nails are taking a break for a long, long time after this show. I think the Sasquatch! people are getting pretty damn lucky this year. I know I can't wait.

Really, who sees more than five or six sets a day anyways? For me it reduces down to:
Kings of Leon / Yeah Yeah Yeahs / Animal Collective / Sun Kil Moon / King Khan & The Shrines / Shearwater /
Sunday, May 24th
Jane's Addiction / TV On The Radio / Peter Bjorn and John / of Montreal / M83 / The Walkmen /
Monday, May 25th
Silversun Pickups / Fleet Foxes / Gogol Bordello / Grizzly Bear / Explosions In The Sky / Girl Talk / Monotonix /
Every fest I've gone to though I've left with at least one really pleasant surprise - a band I wasn't even planning on seeing who were great.

As for the lineup thus far- I am optimistic. If the headliners are medicore, we still have the fantastique rest of the lineup!

Can't believe Explosions In The Sky, M83, and Bon Iver aren't on the mainstage. My utopian Sasquatch has always included seeing EITS at sunset overlooking the gorge. Oh well, I'm still just soooo happy they will be there (and aren't at any other fests right now!)

Oh well, I'm still just soooo happy they will be there (and aren't at any other fests right now!) I kind of prefer having them on Wookie. It just seems a lot more personal than Main stage. And there are probably going to be a few more bands added. There were 72 bands last year, and so far there are only 65 bands for this year announced.

They are totally a sunset, main stage band for Sasquatch.

I will agree, indie lovers dream. But the headliners??? Come on! I don't want to leave the festival at 8 o'clock all nights.
KoL I will stay for. Then Sun/Mon I will stay for Silversun & TVOTR. But I can live without seeing the others. Its still cheap though for $150 bucks. Plus I get $8 dollar icees!!!
