Why has no one even mentioned Yeasayer yet? Well maybe they are going up against The Flips, and FlyLo, but still Yeasayer live has always been an amazing show.
It's all in the first album for me, but the second one does still grow on you.

I really love them and it's one of my biggest disappointments of the fest that I'm missing them.

As long as a small part of my brain still knows how to communicate with the rest of my body, I plan on catching the rest of Yeasayer after The Lips are finished. I definitely was hoping to catch a whole set of theirs though

My friend really doesn't want to miss Modest Mouse. If I can somehow convince him that we should split up for a while, I'll be running with you.

It's B.S. that they're up against the 2 best bands at the festival. They should be main stage opening for the Lips.

What were we supposed to do after that?" "I forget, but I bet that rainbow striped unicorn over there can help us remember."

I've been listening to my Sunday Sasquatch Mix, and I honestly think it's going to come down to how I feel after the Flaming Lips.. I really want to be close for Modest Mouse, but Yeasayer was my most favourite discovery this year.

I will say that if you just discovered them this year, then they're earlier stuff live is gonna surprise you in a good way. I don't think we're gonna need to kick and shove to get good spots for Modest Mouse.

If they don't shave, the Koala better fucking be there, or ma-fuckers are gonna get murdered.

Dammiittttt.... and I'm one of those people who is totally against pushing to get a spot.. I spend good time waiting for the spots I get, so I immediately assume everyone else does too. I get mad when people think they deserve my spot.
Just to be clear, I'm also not one of those people who will cry and whine if someone pushes by me. I'm prepared to have that happen, I just won't contribute to the problem.

Looking at Yeasayer's recent setlists, the only songs they are playing currently that I care about at all are "2080", "Wait for the Summer" and "Tightrope", and it looks like they load those all into the first half of their set. It's too bad because I really love those songs, but since they'll probably be played during the Flaming Lips' set I can now skip Yeasayer entirely.

I think Yeasayer would have fit in a lot better on the main stage somewhere between 3-6pm. Something about Passion Pit and Vampire Weekend last year just got me jacked for afternoon mainstage dance parties.

Yeah, this conflict is really horrible, and I agree that Yeasayer would be a near perfect band to open for the headliners on the main stage. I am completely on the fence at this point. I have seen The Flaming Lips so many times and after the last show left feeling a little disenchanted with them.
I know it is a great vibe and a spectacle, but it really can be predictable at times. The same set of props, Wayne going on a politically charged rant, the same costumes for the people pulled out of the crowd.
At any other venue I would skip the Lips without question to see the other bands playing at that time. Something about their stage show mixed with the backdrop of The Gorge, at sunset nonetheless, is making this a really tough decision.

I see the Lips at least every eighteen months or so, but I haven't heard them play "The Gash" in almost ten years; some of those songs never. This isn't going to be same ol' same ol'.
