Multipurpose thread. Post lyrics that you think are well crafted, are good metaphors, something that you feel is poignant to you at this or past moments, or that you like for no particular reason other than the sound of the words. The guessing game is really just an afterthought, but if you can identify the band/album/song that someone posts a lyric or two from, take that stab at it! And as always, no googling/ honor system/ + on high drugs and 9s rounded up and all that. This particular band takes some of my cake (which is not a lie) for having some of (IMHO) the best metaphors ever. "Alice, where's your tongue?" she said, "look in the encyclopedia's ceaseless chatter." "Alice, where's your hair?" she said, "look in the sharp of a well-worn butterfly knife." "Alice, where's your teeth?" she said, "look at the piano. they're dangling from every single chord." "Alice, where's your lips?" "look in the empires roaring; the tyrants getting so loud and boring." "Alice, where's your man?" "look in this black eye written like the o in the word goodbye.""Alice, where's your house?" "it's built on the hush of your favorite record's screeching halt." The bolded lyric is one I think is particularly good. However, I'd have to say what may be my favorite metaphor of theirs is this: "Ambulance X pulls you out of the party, And rubs your freckles like a DJ to his records." This is one that I know will be easily gotten... I'm just taking bets in my mind as to which person I know knows these will get it first.

Shoulda let someone else start this thing off. J-Dubz is too easy, considering dude only listens to like six bands total.

I swear our minds are connected, and that our minds may or may not be working for the greater good of this board. I really wish their was a word for that. It shall be henceforth be known as board-brain.
