Pedialyte is a must in the morning, its supposed to be for kids or babys or watever but that stuff will kill your hang over and hydrate you in a flash without having to guzzle down tons of water or gatorade It's got what plants crave! its got electrolytes... haha

BRAWNDO!
Also, just a peanut allergy, but most other nuts, trail mix, power bars and that sort of thing are all 'processed in a facility that also processes peanuts or peanut by-products.' Sometimes I'll risk those things in everyday life, but having to OD on benedryl and potentially stab myself with an epi-pen doesn't sound like all that great of a way to celebrate Sasquatch.

I actually make my own protein/energy bars for Sasquatch. I started the tradition a few years sgo. They are inexpensive and pretty easy and delicious to boot. If you want it I will find the recipe. I think it is in this thread or some thread somewhere but I can repost it.
My other advice is to eat a meal in the beginning of your day that is high in protein. We do egg and spam sandwiches usually (spam is another sasquatch tradition due to reasons) but really you just want to have something that will start you out right and give you energy. I don't personally like to bring cheese because it ends up getting soggy in the cooler.
For snacks I do usually bring one pbj for each of us, carrot sticks, crackers, and the homemade energy bars. I would suggest a different nut butter if you want sandwiches but otherwise it is just nice to have snacks around because it is a really long day. Those sandwiches do fine witthout a fridge When we get back to camp late at night we usually just cook up some hot dogs.
The thing that is so very important is hydration. No joke. Drink a lot of water, more than you think you should, especially if you are drinking or partaking in anything else. The climate up there is desert and it dries you out more than you would think.

We brought a couple of those mini cans of tuna into the venue last year along with buns. Super yum lunch!

Thanks folks, you've all been super helpful. I'll do a bit of searching for that protein bar recipe once I have real computer access. I thought about bringing tuna, but wasn't sure how practical that was. Good to know it is. And I plan on bringing my camelback bladder to throw in my bag and refill throughout the day.
In previous camp/canoe trips that involved lots of day drinking I brought along a few cans of those cucumber infused waters. Super refreshing and probably the thing I was most happy I had. I'm going to try to look into a way of doing that myself, otherwise I'll have to buy quite a few of those.

Why anyone would want to eat tuna out of a mini can when they could be eating chicken out of a large can is beyond me.
WHERE'S THE GIBLETS!?!?

I called it the day he signed up! On the bright side, I have reinstated the "staunch" part of my vegetarianism.

You don't have the power to ostracize. Honestly your presence has been so fucking polarizing and has caused so much tension that you are only just barely past the point of being ostracized yourself. Real talk.

I mean I personally ostracize, not on behalf of the group. Eh. Sounds about right and I'm fine with that. If anyone thinks I'm being even remotely serious on this board than that is their problem. I love everyone I have met personally and it is pretty obvious who I am IRL is no where near the crazy town persona I have created on this board. *shrugs*

Glad to see that at least someone out there appreciates the world of delectable canned meat products. Only downside shaxspear is that the red can does not come with giblets. I don't know about you, but canned offal would have put it over the top! In a wonderful way, of course.
