I'm sure I can find room for a crib board and some cards in my trunk. Count me in for cribbage.

Clue - I can never get anyone to play this with me Haha, I am always trying to get the kids at my work to play Clue with me. Usually they get their way and we end up playing the Kinect

Cribbage is awesome. Haven't played since university, but I used to love it. I definitely can't remember all the quirky rules at this point, but I feel like I could pick it up again pretty quickly. "One for his knob," or whatever the hell it is!
Card games in general are fucking fantastic. I'm a big fan of Hearts but it's hard to find 3 other people who will play it with me. I play a lot of Shithead and Asshole with my friends. I learned an Israeli card game called Yaniv while traveling about a year ago. It's pretty simple, and very addictive. Anyone else heard of it? Apparently it's very popular in, well, Israel.
For you Rummy fans out there: have you ever played Canasta? It's like Rummy, but with two decks, and it's on crack. I highly recommend it. I played a lot in high school and wish I could remember all the rules. The main thing I remember is that, as the dealer, if you pick up the exact right amount of cards to deal out to all the players then you score points even before the game has started. Point totals get huge and I remember it being really fun.
I understand Bridge is quite a good game. From what I've been told I would would really like it, but I think I'll wait until I retire to get into it. I recently learned how to play Euchre which I hear is like Bridge for idiots. I like Euchre alright but I just can't seem to remember the bowers!
Poker is a whole 'nother thing. I love it, but am only okay at it I think. I've probably broken even in my poker playing career, but I don't play very often and don't wager too much. Normally I just play with friends on a quiet weekend, but I used to play online sometimes. I haven't for a while, though. I appreciate the strategy and watch it on TV occasionally, which I know is something that some people just cannot stand.
I could go on to talk about all the non-card games I'm into, but I'll leave it be for now.

I am not good at poker. It can be fun but I don't really excel. I have always wanted to learn to play bridge.

"One for his knob," or whatever the hell it is! Two points for 'his nibs' when the dealer flips a jack as the upcard, 'nobs' when you have a jack that's the same suit as the upcard. I just love cribbage so much I'll take any excuse to. My buddy and I played a best of 29 series before he moved back to montana.

If you draw a jack on the cut it is two. If you have the jack that is the same suit as the cut card in your hand you get one. This does not apply to the crib.

not sure if apples to apples got mentioned, but yeah that. Though after playing it a lot, you get a bit burnt out on the word selection

Apples to apples is fun in a group for sure. If you find you play it a lot, you might want to buy some of the expansions (they just add more cards, which helps if you're getting tired of the same words all the time).

I love the game, and when I play we usually make our own cards. Everyone writes a bunch of adjectives on slips of paper as well as a handful of nouns and we just use them instead of cards. Definitely makes for some hilarious times, especially when you play with clever people.

J-Dawg I'm totally on board with you for games, although I actually really like Settlers and play it online (mostly Cities and Knights though) all the time.
I also play a lot of online dominion lately- which is depressing, because I generally do really well against my friends and usually win, but online I lose the majority of my matches by a longshot.
Have you tried Smallworld? It's an absolutely awesome boardgame that is incredibly easy to teach to noobs- and with the expansions the replayability is awesome.

I have apples to apples parties once in awhile at my house. I've gotten so tired of most board games, but holy shit is that game hilarious to play with a bunch of people.

I've played smallworld numerous times. I enjoy the game, but I'm not terribly good at it. The most recent game i made a single mistake that completely sunk me, although with my gaming group it's pretty common to have a single mistake cost you the game since we're pretty ruthless.
Tonight we played Caylus and I managed my first win of that game ever in my group, although it was very close - a 6 point spread from 1st to third, in a 5-player game.
I've never lost Puerto Rico in my group, and I'm about 50/50 on Power Grid usually (which is another awesome game if you've never played it).
I don't do the online thing, because for me the big appeal of games is the social / face to face aspect.
I do enjoy Dominion from time to time but find it a little too "multi-player-solitaire-ish" to want to play it very often.
