I also love the fact that one of the easter eggs for that episode is that you can download an .mp3 of the song. It's truly awful but incredibly funny.

AH YES! I was wondering if someone was gonna ever bring that up. Thought I might've been the only H*R fan here, so I kept it to myself.
And full disclosure about that TBS line, in middle school, twas my favorite line ever, AND my band covered that song.

I stumbled across these the other day, www.camocaps.net/. I am pretty seasoned at sneaking shit into the gorge but I think I might have to give these a try this year.

You don't need to purchase these. To remove the plastic cap w/o breaking the tamper-resistant safety ring seal from any plastic bottle- • heat one cup of water til it boils • hold bottle upside down and insert bottle's top approx. 1" into hot water for 45 seconds. • remove bottle and immediately and slowly unscrew bottle cap. We did this last year with a case of water bottles and brought about 20 successfully removed caps and empty bottles to the festival.

It's important to take the boiling water off the heat source and allow it to stop boiling before inserting the water bottle, if that wasn't obvious from my first post.

Yep. Fox and his lady saved my ass with those last year. I had the entire campsite laughing at me like a dumbass with my method before giving in to theirs.

Yeah, don't buy those Camocaps. They seem cool, but you're getting royally ripped off. First off, different water bottles have different size caps so they may not fit your bottles, and second they're a dollar a piece. They're just normal bottle tops that haven't been put on a bottle yet. I'm sure if you did some digging you could find them for pennies. *insert Gob Bluth saying "Come on!"*
I really like Fox's idea. When removing bottle tops w/o breaking the seal in the past I've always just used a couple tools to keep the rings in place, but that isn't easy and doesn't always work. Sometimes I've just said "fuck it" and used a bit of glue to reconnect the plastic rings, but that can get a little messy and doesn't always look the best. I just put some water on to boil to test your method. Thanks for the tip!

Apply downward pressure while unscrewing the top as slowly as possible, but quickly enough so that the plastic doesn't cool and shrink again.

Well, it didn't work, but the only factory sealed bottle I had in the house was a Vitamin Water and the cap seems pretty heavy-duty. The only time of year that I ever buy bottled water is for Sasquatch.
What brand of bottled water do you use, Fox? Are there some bottles that work easier than others?

I dunno, I think we bought a case of Nestle water from the gas station last year. haha
I would assume the more budget the water, the more budget the bottle. I would look for flimsier looking plastics. We got like 20/24 tops off successfully...

Go to a local 'home brew' place, they have extra caps kicking around. Think I bought 20 or so last year for $2.

Use the cheap cheap cheap bottled waters. The best kind is a Costco "Kirkland Signature" water bottle. Flimsy as fuck and you can practically buy a case of a thousand for a couple bucks.

Cheap water = cheap lids, that makes sense. My work has Kirkland Signature water bottles. I'll swipe one or two next week and give them a shot. Go to a local 'home brew' place, they have extra caps kicking around. Think I bought 20 or so last year for $2. I was just thinking this same thing. My homebrew supplier definitely sells plastic bottles and caps, but I don't know if they have the seal rings or not. They probably do. I've never checked because I've never wanted to drink my beer out of a plastic bottle. Bleh!

I'm trying to wrap my head around any possible reason that a home brew supplier would have plastic bottles...

They're cheap, durable, easily capped, and have absolutely no place containing beer.
