Apparently a bunch of (brainless) people in Canada (even as far east as Toronto) have been panicking and stocking up on Iodine pills. Not sure if the same phenomenon is happening in the States.

Unfortunately. I just finished reading a news report about the current panic in San Francisco regarding iodide/ine pills.
We don't tend to worry about such things in Arizona since...well, since the very act of living in Arizona is reason enough for panic, I suppose.

I find it funny that all these people running out to get these pills likely have less than a few days worth of bottled water + non perishable food in their house. If you are in the vicinity of nuclear fallout, being prepared to seal yourself indoors for an extended period of time will help you a lot more than taking a pill.

Glenn Beck has already convinced half of the nation to build fallout shelters in their back yards since Obama took over the White House. I guess I'll find some redneck to board up with if shit hits the fan.

I work at a health food store. Apparently there is a large waiting list for potassium iodide in our vitamin department. Silly, paranoid Californian transplants.

Haha theres a worldwide run on potassium iodide so unfortunately we can't chalk this one up to the californians, as much as we like to do that in Boise.
